My buddy just decided we are going to get tickets and head to arizona for 4-5 days in mid to late july to play golf. We are open to anything! Just hoping somone one can tell us of some courses that are close by or some deals to be had or a golf package. Thanks!

Go to Laughlin, NV, right across the border from Bullhead City, AZ.
You can play Laughlin Ranch, which is on the AZ side, El Rio, which is on the AZ side, Mohave Golf course which is on the NV side and another course I can't remember which is up Boundary Cone Rd as you drive to Oatman, AZ. If you stay at the Edgewater Casino, on the Laughlin side you can probably get a room for less than 25 a night.
On the Laughlin side of the Colorado river are 10 casinos. All of the courses I mentioned are 18 hole championship style. The carts at LR even have little coolers.
My suggestion and you are only 100 miles from Vegas. A great set of courses there are they Pauite courses, Snow Sun and Wolf. Cheap rates in the summer too.

I'd fly into Vegas rent a car and drive down to Laughlin. Easy to get to from Vegas.

Use this site for help on courses in Phoenix area and Vegas too.

The nice thing about the Laughlin, NV and Bullhead City AZ courses is they are all within a 20 mile radius with no traffic hassles. Easy drivin all day long.

Bullhead City is going to be like 120 degrees in July, its constantly the hottest spot in the state.

Id say go for Scottsdale. Theres awesome courses and you can find good discounted summer rates at all of the hotels. Im sure someone else can shed some more light on the subject though.

Play the $200 dollar winter courses for under $60

Go for north Scottsdale courses such as Legend Trail, Troon North, The Boulders, TPC courses, and maybe We-Ko-Pa (in Fountain Hills). All of those are kept in good shape all year, as good as they can be when it is that hot.

For visitors, I always recommend the Saguaro course at We-Ko-Pa.

Have fun!

Another vote for We-Ko-Pa. Excellent course. I like it better than Troon, Sunridge Canyan, etc.

Oh yes I agree..if you play at 3 in the PM. Play in the morning, gamble during the late afternoon evening, eat excellent meals and go to bed early so you can start again.

It'sually not a 110* before 12 noon.

In July there are golf and hotel/motel deals to be had all over the place... so the last place I'd consider is Bullhead city. Course, if you have river rat tendencies (I was one once) and want bikini clad babes with doing shots and beers as they float down the river tubing or laying on the deck of boat - Bullhead city or Laughlin would be wise... plus there are few new low priced golf courses outside of Laughlin.

Now, if you into enjoying good courses at reasonable prices (compared to their in-season price) Scottsdale at a reasonably priced Motel would be the better choice. The Wigwam has 3 courses and some great package rates in July.. my wife and I have been there many times. Just make sure before you take off in the cart, fill up the basket with icy down coolers and loaded with towels and water. We've played in temps to 120. With the right supplies its no big whoop.

Agreed if you dont mind the heat you can play some of Phoenix's best course for outstanding prices, Must play WeKoPa, Troon, Boulders, Grayhawk, most you should be able to get for close to 50$ a round compared to the $175+ most pay during peak season.

Some very good stuff in there wink.gif

Edit: Most of the good hotels are running around 89$ a night, for a hotel like the Westin Kierland that is a very good price
