This past weekend, I played a local muni course. I showed up a little before 7am hoping to join a group early. I walk up to the starter and see if he can get a single out for 18. He said "sure, you can join that 2 some on the box." It was a father and his young son (maybe 8-10). I was walking with a push cart and the father and son were riding in a cart. The father was playing from the box 1 up from the tips, so I thought I would play with him. By the time I got to the box, the father just teed off. I walk up to him and say, "the starter said to join you 2, do you mind?" Father said no problem and we greeted each other. I turn away to get my club and by the time I pull the driver out, the father jumps in the cart and takes off??? I thought maybe he was driving up to the womens box for his son, but proceeds to his ball. I just stood there thinking WTF???????

Luckily the group behind was a 3 some, so I joined them. I still have no idea what happened, even a few days later. Actually still makes me laugh.

Thought I share...

nearly the same situation happened to me this weekend too. i wanted to play twilight at a muni and since it was wide open, the starter told me i could play either the front or back. since there was a twosome on the first hole, i told the starter i would join the twosome.

after walking-up to them, they told me to go ahead and hit. so after i hit, i go back to my bag and waited. one of the guys told me to 'go ahead'. i told him i just hit the ball. he repeats himself, i repeat myself. he then tells me 'no, no, you go play ahead.'

i guess they wanted to play by themselves... rolleyes.gif
