Wanted to find out which particular models are the handmade in USA. Are all Classics made in the USA (at least were) or just certain ones? I noticed that the Classics Tour looks to have a full rubber sole, whereas the Dry Premieres don't.

Footjoy closed the plant where the Classics were made, it was in the USA. They discontinued the Classics line. However, they now have the new flagship line called the Icon. Look just like the Classics to me, I bet they are the same just made overseas now. Oh, the heel logo is slightly different too.

Golf shoes:

Classics Dry Premier and Classics Tour and Classics with no spikes (teaching shoes/shop shoes).

Non-golf shoes:

Dress shoes, Country Club Casuals

All made in Brockton, Ma., USA.

* over the years went from all leather outsole (original Classic) to leather with rubber patches outsole (Classic Dry Premier), to full rubber outsole (Classics Tour). All of these styles are welt construction (soles stitched to the upper) , which is the very strongest way to construct footwear. The welt construction is the primary reason FJ Classic shoes maintained their shape for year after year of use.

Anyone think there is any advantage/disadvantage to the full rubber sole on the tours? I think the partial leather sole looks classier, but I'm not sure if there is a functional advantage.
