OK i know it's early in the season, but i've gotten in 12 rounds so far, and i would estimate more than half have been in weather in which pro tournaments would have been called. Yesterday my round was rained out in pretty much a monsoon, today i played in 8 degrees celcius and 35Km/h winds. Details: I came up short from 120 with a 7 iron. On 3 consecutive holes i had less than 160 in and had to keep a 4 iron 15 feet off the ground just reach the green. In a round last weekend it was even worse...on one hole all 3 of my playing partners carts got blown over while we were on the green. Add to all this with all the rain we've been getting the balls are plugging in the fairways, making 6600yd courses play like 7200yd courses. And these are the "good" days... I've been striking balls better than ever before and feel lucky to card 75-77's

I blame global warming, recycle people!!!! Please trade in your hummers, this is killing me!

I blame my father. He hooked me on this game 40 years ago! ;-)

Here in central PA, the weather has been unusually wet, but I certainly remember a year when we lost 80% of the courses in my area (for a season) due to drought. I just try to adjust and enjoy the times I do get out. 75's in that kind of weather? VERY nice playing! Should make you a stronger player when better weather arrives.

At least it's not snowing!

I agree the weather has been the sh...ts.

I decided to pass on golf this morning here in Montreal. it was barely 10 degrees ( celcius ) and very windy, too. ( I had played yesterday in the rain , so I had enuf of the bad weather).

GOOD NEWS - turned on the Golf Channel; watched the Irish Open on a beautifull links course and watched a sudden death finish between a guy who had never won on the Pro tour and a 22 year old amateur who was playing in his first professional event ( as an amateur). great scenery; great golf and great drama.

Im in Nova Scotia and it just started to pour. Supposed to get 30-40 mm of rain by the time its all done. This is a pretty lousy long weekend that could have been used for some much needed golf.

But on the bright side, i played in the mens opening tournament yesterday and won low gross for my division. Was an awesome day smile.gif

Had to work this morning at the course, was barely 40* when I got there at 6am and didn't break that until around 12-1ish. Wind was howling too, making it feel like 20* out there.

I have not played many days in my shorts, and most of the days I've played have been in 20mph+ winds. My handicap is low but I can't wait until real scoring weather gets here. Playing tomorrow, and its looking like a 45* tee off temperature.

I'm in the northeast and the rain is getting absurd. I'm sick of being glued to the weather radar on my blackberry hoping for a little window after work. Sucks big time.

Same here. Every time I think I can get out there after work, it rains. The forecast looks a lot better this week.....possibly some 80's! I can't wait until the summer months when it's warm. I'm getting sick of playing with a jacket on.

I'm living in manhattan (from GA) and agree, the weather is really getting under my skin. I'm starting to think the NE doesn't have spring.

Yeah the weather has sucked here, cold, wet & windy, the other day I was playing a 165yd par 3, normally a 9i (downhill) I hit a 5 iron pin high, that's nuts, the most club I've hit before that was a 7 iron. The fairways are soft & the ball is plugging.

It hasn't been much better here in The Great White North [Minnesota]. I've already been rained out three times and have yet to play a round without wearing extra layers.

The Longest Winter EVER has been supplanted by The Spring That Won't Warm Up.

Spring as we know it is gone. It goes from 60* to 90* overnight...
It also looks as if the rain cycle is going to hit just in time for Saturday morning tee times this year and leave just in time for work on Monday mornings. I'm thinking the rain gear is going to be a permanent fixture in my bag this season.

the rain is awful but I don't mind the cold. I would rather it be cold then 95 degrees with 100% humidity like in July.

the NE does too have Spring - sometimes it lasts as long as 36 hours.

Not only too much rain, but my oil burner still goes on at night here on Long Island. Does not feel like the 3rd week in May! russian_roulette.gif
