Can anyone reccomend some rainwear that is the most cost effective. I have never owned any rainwear but would like to buy some that will not break the bank.

Thank You,
Robert

ralphlauren.com is having their private sale through tomorrow (May 18) and if you use the coupon code MAY1418 you get an extra 15%. I don't know if they have anything in Polo Golf on sale but I did see some RLX rain gear for about 40% off.

I think the problem is that you need to either go ultra cheap and just get a lightweight packable suit that will keep you partly dry for an hour or two of light drizzle, or else you need to bite the bullet and pay much more for something really good like ZR or Galvin Green. Otherwise, you pay a moderate amount of money and still get something that is not much better than entry level.

You might consider taking a top brand like ZR and looking for pieces on sales over time. I accumulated my ZR goretex stuff by buying first the jacket, then a month later nabbed the matching bucket hat, then the following year, got the matching pants. All on sale. Now I have something that will last for many years, looks great, and keeps me dry even in an all day steady rain.

I bought a Proquip silk touch rain jacket off of rockbottomgolf.com and love it. It is very lightweight and can be had for $25. For that price you can throw it in the bag and forget about it. I have worn it twice in a couple down pours and can attest to the fact that it will keep you bone dry.
