I understand the need for flights, but why the gross scoring vs net? Most mens clubs use net and the World AM, Pac Am, Mesquite, etc use net. Giving up as many as 4 shots is confusing to me, it's like you are counting on your opponent having a bad round instead of you having a good round. I understand the sandbagging concerns, but in talking with them they use their own tour index's anyway. They really can't answer my question except to say it is to prevent sandbagging. I've always subscribed to the thought that pro's play scratch and amateurs play to a handicap. Am I missing something? What are your thoughts?
