Played BPB Saturday...but I should back up for a minute.
I got to the course on Thursday about 5:30pm and was able to secure parking spot number 3. My some of my buddies rolled in about 9:00pm and were able to get spot# 4. We played the Red Course on Friday. The weather was overcast with spotting light rain. Folks this is the most beautiful piece of property I've ever seen. The back 9 of the Red was a good warm up for the what was to come on Saturday.
I shot +6 on the front side of the Red and +7 on the back. I didn't a a good weekend with the driver which makes for a frustrating weekend anywhere but especially here. The greens weren't overly fast but they weren't very soft either.
Saturday on the Black I started with a crowd pleasing 8 on number one. I can't tell you how sick the rough is. I didn't hit a fairway in reg until 9 and I only hit 3 all day. We didn't get to play the very back (2009) Tee's but most of the boxes we played were the 2002 ones.
I'll try to answer any questions you might have. In the end I did break 100 (98) but did accomplish my goal of breaking 90. A couple of my buddies shot 82 and 83 but they also hit 10-12 fairways. I usually beat these Cats so it was a humbling experience to say the least.
If you can get out there do it, even if you shoot higher than you do at your home course like I did you'll totally love the experience.
I'm off to play Pebble and Spyglass this coming weekend (hopefully I'll hit the Driver better) and will post a review of that trip next week.
