I am heading to La Jolla next week for my wife's company trip. We are headed down a few days early so I can play Torrey Pines South. I wanted to see if anyone knew of any really good steakhouses in the area.

If you like Ruth's Chris there is one in Del Mar (boarders La Jolla to the north).

While not a steakhouse, another place that I really enjoy is Pacific Coast Grill in Solana Beach. They have a great happy hour and the best chicken fajitas I've ever eaten.

Enjoy Torrey Pines it's a beautiful course. I miss living down there, the resident greens fees were awesome.

Donovan's Steakhouse in La Jolla (just across from UTC) is phenomenal IMO. Went there for a friend's birthday back in December and was very impressed.

A 2nd recommendation, a little cozier and not quite as upscale, is Bully's. There is a location in Bird Rock (just south of LJ) and one in Del Mar (just north).
