I will be visitng Miami on my own during the last week of May and have Wed - Friday free.

Am trying to nail down the best place to stay and play and so far looked at;

Doral - have some package offers going

Fairmont - have free golf but seems they charge $35 a day for valet parking and am looking at being on and off the property a lot and find valet aprking a pain for that due to the delays

Crandon- looks kinda quirky but fun

Trying to weigh up staying on the Oceanfront and picking off courses separately, from a single package at one place

Landing at Miami Tuesday lunchtime and flying out Friday night, so appreciate views on where I should go (will have a car) in the interim including best places to demo clubs etc

You'll have plenty of options if you have a car. I live here in Miami. Here's where I would play if I had 3 days:

Doral - Great golf courses, and a great property. But, the area is kind of far from everything else, and a PAIN to get into and out of during rush hour (I know...I work about 10 min from Doral). The red, gold, and Great White are all awesome courses. The Blue Monster is fun, but a bit overrated (and overpriced) imho. Stay away from the Silver, as it's 1mi from the main property.

Crandon - Best course in the area imho. This is a MUST PLAY.

Miccosukee - Good underrated course. It's a bit far south and west, but worth the trek to play at least one round. The course hosts a Nationwide event every year.

Turnberry - Nice stay and play resort that is close to the water. I've never played the course, but I've heard great things about it. It's also close to I-95, and centrally located between Miami and Ft Lauderdale.

If it's in your price range, I'd recommend a stay and play at Turnberry. You can trek to the other courses, and to Miami Beach or the Seminole Hard Rock casino if you want to check out the night life.

Here's a golfwrx thread on Turnberry:

If you have specific questions about the area, send me a PM and I'll try to answer them.

Also, if you decide to stay at turnberry, this tip came from that golfwrx thread I linked to:

"Quick tip - join the Fairmont Presidents club on their website.
It will let you access free TM rental clubs at any of their resorts.
Just did this in Hawaii.
You can also get Adidas workout clothes and shoes for the week for $10."
