On 18, when he was trying the low, squeeze-fade...It went right so fast I thought it might be a hosel-rocket? Anyone else think this might have been the case?

No.
It was a solid strike. His swing path and open stance gave the appearance of it squirting right a la a lucy locket.

I dont think the hozel made it go right so much as that tree that it hit

I think you've mistaken Tiger for Angel.
That was quite the hosel rocket from the fairway.

a shank? really? looked more like a crappy blocked shot - I dont think that a ball off the hozel would take that trajectory - not that I am a tiger fan (one of my favorite moments was Vijay's caddies "tiger who" hat

I think Tiger is an amazing golfer, but he strikes me as a tool. His interviews are horrendous. When he finished his interview with, "dude" he sounded exactly like Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore. So, that is my opinion of him, basically a geek who is an amazing golfer with a great and strong mind.
However, just looking at the shot, it is not clear either way, but it did sound awful on TV and it had so much cut spin that starting it that far right was a huge push, kind of unlikely for him. More likely is a shank which would have totally surprised him.
Just my 2 cents.
