Is it because he does not speak english?

Very curious to hear the answer, I was wondering the same thing.

I can't stand it when the presentation is indoors.

Make it outdoors for everyone to see. Why must it be a secret?

bell812
They always do it indoors first, for TV, then outdoors. The whole Butler Cabin tradition.
alvoaboafoa
The outdoor presentation was not televised. They did the presentation indoors? Why is this?
scotchblade
It's been this way for years and years and years. First inside the cabin, which is televised, then outside, no TV.
scotchblade
Yes, he received it outdoors.

After first receiving it in the Butler Cabin, a Masters tradition.

The initial presentation has been done in Butler Cabin for YEARS.... do you not remember Hooties "Jim, I believe they're coming in now..." line?

The 2nd presentation is done on the 18th green, but is not televised.

TGC will have a highlight of the Outdoor Ceremony before their coverage is over, just watch that if you want a peak.

Like everyone has said, this has been a tradition forever, Butler Cabin for CBS and the first Green Jacket ceremony then the big one outside for the people.

Anybody think this guy is wrong? Didn't Immelman recieve the jacket outdoors?

It has been done this way for a long time. Again, that is why it's called the Butler Cabin tradition.

You think Hootie's line was bad... heck, I remember Jack Stephens' version of the same thing. Even more forced.

Now that I think about it, I think I can even remember Clifford Roberts doing the same thing. Damn, I'm getting old.
