Andres was the man for having his camera rolling today when this happened, truly amazing shot on hole 16. I just loaded this to YouTube, but credit goes to Andres for having his camera rolling. This was the shot of the day and Andres caught it on camera plus a fantastic narration.

Video was shot on Tuesday April 07, 2009 at Augusta National Golf Course during Tuesday's Masters practice round on hole 16 (170 yard Par 3) which is played entirely over water. After players hit their approach shot, they are persuaded (rather loudly) by the crowd to skip a ball over the pond onto the green , much like you would skip a rock over water, but they are using a club and a golf ball. It just so happen today that Vijay skips a ball over the water and into the hole in a single shot. Vijay begins about 25 seconds into the video...

we were on 14 green when he did that... i almost crapped myself. the roar wasn't one big shout. It was a long growl with a very sharp bark. You could here it build up for about 3-4 seconds and then you could tell right when the ball dropped in the hole.

It was pretty awesome. My dad and I had just sat down in 15 grand stands. And right before vijay and them came to the tee a guy got up from the top row and far side of the stands so we went and got in his seat which was the best seat in the house in my opinion. Not 5 minutes later vijay came up and made it. As soon as it rolled on the green my dad said that it was going in and sure enough it rolled in. It was pretty awesome.

Ever skipped a rock across water? Same premise. You hit a loooow punch and it'll skip.

Wish I could have seen it. We were on 9 tee when it happened and I've never heard a roar as loud.

Sweet. We had just missed that...We left 16 to go watch Tiger on the range...

We did see Ross Fisher lip it out after skipping it though and watched Danny Lee try to skip it but flew it over the water and almost killed somebody.

yep just take something like a 3-5 iron, find a downslope near the water, put the ball back in your stance and try to hit a really low, FLAT punch.

with some practice it becomes an EASY way to take $5-$20 off a poor unsuspecting sap betting them that you can skip a golf ball across the water.

Now getting it into the hole, thats IMPRESSIVE

Had just watched Vijay hit some wedges into 15. My buddy had been pounding beers so we had to make a run to the bathroom by the gate 9 entrance. So, of course, I was walking out of the bathroom when I heard this. Awesome.
