I live in LA right now, and oddly have not made it out to Palm Springs yet. Decided I am going to go the next few weeks possibly.
Lets say money is no concern, and private courses are not a concern either, what are the best courses and the "cant miss" courses to play out there? I have been working so much I need to treat myself a little the next few weekends.

Thanks!

Fire Cliff for sure!

Great info, thank you guys. keep them coming if anyone else knows. I passed up the chance to play Porcupine Creek as I had parents in town, going to give them a ring for sure. Madison club looked nice from TV (the playing lessons with the pros, with Fred Couples and Marky Mark lol, actually a great episode, one of the few actors that actually look like they are true to their handicap, Off topic I know)
Public courses look great as well, thanks again!

Was there 4 years ago before the birth of our first son. Out of the courses I played, would recommend Desert Willow (Firecliff), La Quinta Mountain, and Shadow Ridge. You may get conflicting opinions on this one, but out of everything I enjoyed the PGA West Stadium course the most. It was 1 week before q-school came through and was setup very tough. I really enjoyed the challenge and would think the trip would not be complete without a trip around 18. The type of course where you know exactly what shot you need to hit and you either hit it or end up in DEEP trouble.

I'd have second thoughts about playing the Firecliff course. I played there back in December and the place was overgrown to the point where some of the tee boxes were just about useless. Only one side of them could be used without hitting through bushes. The bushes were overgrown on one par 3 so much that from the tee the green couldn't be seen at all! We played with a member and he was complaining of the same thing. It's a municipal course, so expect municipal conditions.

While there during this trip, and while on others, I've played both Indian Wells' Players and Celebrity Courses, SilverRock, Terra Lago, Classic Club, LaQuinta's Dunes and Mountain Courses, the Marriott Course, Desert Princess, Cimmaron Boulder, Escena, Mission Hills (Player Course), Trilogy, Indian Springs and Tahquitz Creek.

The first 7 or 8 courses I listed were the best I've played there. You can't go wrong with them I believe.
