Ok, so at a demo day today, the leg on my Adidas Ascend bag snapped - no idea how (its only a year old)...but I cant say I am that upset, I really didnt like it. I used to have a ping hoofer that I got in 2001 that had 4 pockets. A wide one across the top, 2 smaller ones - left and right center, and a wide one across the bottom. I used that bag for about 8 years and many rounds. It held up pretty good, and still in usable condition, but id rather keep it in the garage since it was my college bag and has my name and whatnot.

Does anyone know of any bags that are similar to that. The new one has 5 or 6 pockets and im not really a fan. I see that many bags now have 14 club spots and i am not a fan of that style either. I would also like the bag to be of some real material instead of the cheap nylon type material that was on the Ascend...any suggestions - thanks

Props to you for not wanting to use a bag with your name on it! Unless you are on tour, it's pretty silly looking.

Well I did use it for 2 years after I graduated blush.gif and then decided it was time to change.

But for now I'd rather keep it in half decent condition as my garage bag to hold my extra clubs, but you are right, no need for a name on the bag now.

I've heard good things on the Under Armour Bags out there. Maybe check the big box stores and check on Ogio, Sun Mountain and those type of bags? I was able to get an Ogio GROM one at a Sports Authority.

Oh wow, I dont know how i havent seen that. That is a nice bag, similar-slightly smaller than my old hoofer i think, but just what I want. Now I need to decide if i want the all black or the white and atomic orange

Anyone know if discountgolfworld.com or budgetgolf.com are reputable sites?

Also, anyone with an opinion on the black bag, navy bag, or white and atomic orange bag?

Similarly, I was stuck on ping bags for awhile. The classic J bag, to the hoofer 2, and then back to the J when I wanted to stop cramming 14 clubs in. In between I tried a couple clevelands and newer ping voyages etc.

I settled on the OGIO ozone. It was hard to find a strap system that was comparable to the comfort of the j.

Plus I have an ogio bookbag so I guess you could say brand loyalty AHAH. Check them out though its pretty solid.

I have a Nike Pro combo stand bag, but today I was putting the rental clubs back today (stored in a Bridgestone stand bag) at work after someone had used them. I realized how light the bag was with Driver, 3W, 5W, 3H, 4-PW, 2 wedges, and a putter! I could not believe how light it was!!!! I am seriously considering buying the bag, and would highly recommend it to you!! I am 99% sure it has 6 dividers. 3 of them full length.

Here is a pic of the bag:

I was looking at the ozone today, and have been eyeing it for a while. I was essentially comparing it to the Callaway bags, and I want to like the Cally bags, but they simply aren't comfortable, and that's without clubs in them! I don't notice the buckle problem others do but the straps simply ride on the shoulders weird.

How do you like the Ozone? I was also looking at the Four-5 but it actually seems flimsy to me. I have one last bag to look at the Sasquatch tour. I might try to take a peak at it tomorrow.

SQ Tour bag is too heavy if you walk a lot, IMO

I have a pro-combo nike bag (same as SQ Tour but diff name) and am looking for a new bag.

Picked up an Ogio Grom yesterday. Also considered the Titleist Premimum, Four 5, TM TMX. All nice bags. Picked the Grom because:
Dividers work well for me
Sturdy fabric with decent rain protection. Not the lightest bag but not a priorty for me. I ride 1/2 the time and when I walk usually take the Speed Cart V2.
Lock down elastic for the legs when riding.
Rubber strap that keeps the bag from twisting when riding.
Pockets work for me. especially the spring loaded ball pocket instead of a zipper.
Like the velcro patch for hanging a glove. The ball holder is stupid, wish I could remove it.

OK - pulled the trigger on an ebay bag (I usually hate ebay, but this guy seeemed credible - and his bags were great looking). Ping voyage that I assume he made a lot of in the ping bag shop. Mostly white with some red - I'll post a pic when I get it.

Im likin the ozone alot. Its pretty lightweight, the strap system is comfortable, my clubs dont get tangled, its durable, and it looks pretty sweet. I got the blue/argyle. I prefer something a little plainer, but I got it super cheap and Im getting used to it. I tried alot of bags last year and this was the winner.

And to the OP- nice choice on the ping, but give an update on how you like those carry straps if you carry a few holes.

longballjs
Ok, will do. What is the potential issue about the straps?
