The economy must be bad for this to trickle down to me. I just got a call asking if I could attend the Masters for the Thursday and Friday rounds....comped! I just have to get myself to Augusta, stay at the rented house Wed and Thurs nights and leave Friday pm. How could I turn that down?

I've driven by the gate, but have never been in. I have been reading about practice round experiences and tips using the search function. Does anyone have tips for attending the actual competitive rounds?

Well if you can't make it, I'll begrudgingly take your place.

I found it shocking that the face value of a 4 day pass is $175 as described in Golf magazine last month. How in the world does one get THAT price???

Thats face value for people who are on "the list". Thats what the tickets actually cost. Gotta love the Masters...all about the golf.

you get that price when you are on the patron list

Tournament Tickets
Tournament or "Series" Badges (Thursday through Sunday) have been sold to those on our patron list which was closed due to demand in 1972. A waiting list began in 1972, and was closed in 1978. It reopened in 2000, and it too is now closed. No applications for "Series" Badges are currently being accepted.

That's face value on the badges of original badge holders. No such luck for those buying from a broker or scalping. Though prices are cut in 1/2 this year. A daily badge is $400 or so ... good year to go. I got mine for $800 a couple of years ago.
