A glorious day on Tuesday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational with blue skies and temperatures in the 80’s. We touched base with about 30 FootJoy players to ensure they have everything they need heading into the season’s first major and to record some video for upcoming meetings and product introductions. We’ll also be featuring a lot of new video here on the blog, including answers to the questions that were posed here so stay tuned. Observations from day two:


  • Most players are approached by 5-6 people (media, tournament officials, manufacturers, etc) between the putting area and the practice range.

  • Ian Poulter is as passionate about his company (www.ianpoulterdesign.com) as he is about his golf. He is extremely driven to ensure both succeed.

  • DJ Trahan is a lot bigger in person than you might expect and has a great sense of humor even when you ask him to wear a cold weather softshell jacket on an 80 degree day.

  • Parker McLachlin correctly picked 14 of the 16 teams in the NCAA Sweet 16.

  • You can get a sunburn even when it’s cloudy.
