Another perfect day in the Sunshine State on Wednesday. About 80 degrees, nice breeze and plenty of sun. A lot busier as the pro-am took center stage but we finally got out on the course to see some of the holes. Number 18 is just awesome and no lead is safe until the ball is in the hole on that beast. Holes 1 and 10 are fairly straightforward, although, like a lot of holes at Bay Hill, they require the pros to shape their tee shot around a dogleg. I saw a lot of guys hitting out of the rough and it’ll be difficult to contend if you’re not hitting the fairways. The course is surprisingly wide open but you have to keep it in the short stuff. Great day, though. Spoke with Adam Scott and Zach Johnson among other guys and got some great content we’ll be sharing with you throughout the year. Observations from Wednesday:

• One of the areas the pros set themselves apart from amateur players is recovery from off the fairway. Saw Padraig hit around a tree from thick rough to about 15 feet. Saw an amateur with a similar shot barely punch it back into the fairway.
• Erik Compton is working really, really hard.
• Watching Bobby Orr and Arnold Palmer face off with hockey sticks as the ceremonial first ball was dropped on the first tee was priceless.
• Every time I went in the locker room, it seemed like the Arsenal soccer team was on TV. Replay? Or just one really, really long match?
• Davis Love is playing well from tee-to-green and is still a fan favorite.
• Scoring could be tricky this weekend if the wind keeps blowing like it did the past two days.
