A 900 yard par 3 is in South Africa . The green is shaped like the African continent and completely surrounded by a sea of sand. You hit off a cliff over 1,400 feet above the hole and it takes 26 seconds for your ball to land. You have to take a helicopter to get to the hole. They post spotters around the green to let you know where your ball lands because you can’t possibly see it. Padraig Harrington is the only person to ever par it. He did it in a playoff after a recent tournament there. It is the 19th -hole and only used for playoffs. Watch him do it…with a ‘sandy’ no less. The first picture has an arrow in the center of it, but is not active. The second picture provides the YouTube video. http://www.compleatgolfer.co.za/new_site/c...page.asp?id=856 http://www.compleatgolfer.co.za:80/new_sit...page.asp?id=856

I can't believe he even got it anywhere near that green. The wind must have at least 3 breaks in it from the tee to the green. That's insane.

There is a video where sergio barely makes the green with his driver. That leaves most of us mortals screwed

You may need a shovel to repair your divot if you hit the green

That's cool as hell. Just too scary for me. They need to take better care of the tee though..

It's TOTALLY misleading to call this a 900 yard par 3 when the drop distance is included in that measurement (about 450 yards above the hole) And as someone in one of the links pointed out, 26 second drop is complete BS.

I'd be shaking too badly to swing the club. Just watching the video made me retract.

Actually the 900y is the complete BS part.
Check the website:
http://www.legend-resort.com/ It's 470m in horizontal distance, with a 430m drop.

There's no way I could get to my left side off that tee, I don't even like hitting off the top deck at a driving range
