So by missing the cut this week, is he a no-go for Augusta unless he wins Houston?

Will the MC drop him out of the top 50? If so, then yes he has to win in Houston.

looks like he still has a good chance. from Yahoo news: (Appleby is currently 48th, Baddeley is currently 67th
Davis Love III, who missed the cut, might still be able to get into the top 50 in the world and qualify for the Masters, but he needs some help. He would need
Stuart Appleby to finish out of the top 32 and
Aaron Baddeley to finish lower than 56th. The two Aussies were tied for 59th going into the final round. …
Hunter Mahan birdied three of his four holes, then played his final 10 holes in 7 over, including a 40 on the back nine.

What do you mean he doesnt deserve it?!?!?!? If he gets in the top 50 or wins, then he has EARNED it. It's not an exemption. He has just recently won on the tour as well which PROVES he still has game.

If Yahoo's report was calculated correctly, DL3 is in the Masters. Appleby finished T52 and Badds finished T66. Not sure how Love doesn't deserve it. There are multiple criterion for getting into the Masters field, you only have to meet one of the criteria and he did. He has as much right to be there as every other guy in the field.

Neither do Appleby or Baddely.

None of the 3, Love, Bads or Appleby are in the top 50. DL3 is 51.
Soren Kljedsen winning in Europe moved him into the top 50 and knocked Love out.

Wait... I thought DL3 got a set number of wins in his Tour history, and thus has a lifetime exemption into the tour events, including Majors. Or was it that he's always allowed onto the Tour and not have to go through Q-School?

The Majors don't recognize those kind of exceptions.

That makes ZERO sense! If you earn a spot in the tournament, how do you not deserve it?? What an odd statement.

Does he still have a shot to get in after this weekends Houston Open if he can get in the top 50 in the world rankings or is the field set already?

Kind of a OT, so I will apologize in advance. If a player win 2 regular tournaments (2008) and a major (2009). Please explain the exemption process as to how long he is exempt. (i.e.) exempt thru 2012 for regular and tag on the major after the regular out
