Do you prefer a Rain Jacket or a Rain shirt? I'm probably in need of one this spring and am considering the 2 options. I live in Oregon so we get our share of rain as a result I am fully accustomed to dressing in layers.

ALso recommendations of a brand that isn't terribly expensive?

I usually go for the rain jacket - it's easier to get on and off with a full length zip when the rain starts and stops as it often does. Having said that, I also have a rain shirt that I prefer to wear when it's windy and cold, as I'm usually going to keep it on then. I have both from the Footjoy Red Label series - I wouldn't say that they're cheap, but they are excellent quality with a good fit.

I have a Snake Eyes rain jacket that has removable sleeves. We don't get downpours that often here in So Cal, but for the light rain I've used it in, it was great. I could add the sleeves for colder weather, or remove them for warmer days.

Get a convertable jacket. I have the Adidas 3-Way. No need to carry anything else. It's a jacket, short sleeve and vest. As far as price, you get what you pay for. Living in Oregon, I would think it would be worth the money to get a good jacket.

Maybe but when you live in it for 34 years it's something you kinda get used to.

I have a short sleeve rain shirt but I might get a rain jacket for when its chilly -- Schilly did you ever decide on a golf bag yet?

Yeah I'm going with either the Callway Warbird Hot or Warbird X. My wife gave me a "Tax Return Golf Stimulus Budget" which likely will be the only Budget I get for gear for the rest of this year. As I am getting back into the game after essentially a 10 year layoff, I have some needs. Wedges, Shoes and Bag are top 3, followed by a couple training aids. That will leave me enough for either a rain shirt/Jacket or a lesson or 2.
