I looking to start my playing career on the gateway tour and the problem is I am an international player and I don't know what type of visa I should apply for. The gateway tour website stated that most of their international players applied for a P-1 visa which is an athlete or entertainer visa.

So the real question is how do I go about applying it? Could that be done by myself or the tour has to apply for me? Or is there any other visa that would better suit me? I am sure there are many international players here and any feedback would really help. Thanks.

From your screen name, I assume you are a Canadian. You might try the Canadian Tour for help. Even if they cannot help, they (or one of their players) might know an immigration lawyer who can hook you up.

If found the following link which might help.
