His son seems quite driven as well. 50 marathons in 50 days...that would kill even the most accomplished marathon runner.

While it's quite a feat for someone in their 70s, I just don't think it's anything too crazy. Just find two courses close together and string together the map going from state to state. I don't think it's necessarily easy, but you just need to find the easiest route to cross states. Most aren't more than a few hours across if the direction you pick is proper. It would be super fun though!!

Now 50 marathons in 50 days is just plain crazy. That is absolutely horrible for your body, and his son is fairly lucky that he didn't die. It's not the running so much as constantly exhausting your immune system.
