So keeping this on topic as far as during play, what's the thing you hate most that you might do? Hit a ball OB, top a ball, slice at the wrong time, etc...
Mine is missing a GIR, and then 3-jacking for double bogey. For my money, that's 3 bad shots in a row... The chip didn't get close to the hole, the first putt usually isn't close, then you miss the come backer...

Hate following up a birdie with a bogey or dreadful double... Playing in Alabama, I shot a 39 on the front then birdie 10th hole, and proceed to double (par 3) 11th, bogey on 12 and double on 13. Wanted to drown myself in the lake on the 14th!

Hitting the stick on an approach shot and the ball going far away from the pin or even off the green.
Its like getting punched in the nuts for hitting a shot right at your target

Mine is pretty simple...being within 100 yards of the green and making a double or worse....been doing that a lot recently.
Driver is awesome right now but stupid decisions, wet conditions, and short/wet zoysia is killing my short game.

The number one thing I do that absolutely kills me is decide to play a shot safe and proceed to totally wreck it. Like if I play an iron off the tee and snap it ob or cold top it etc... Or decide to lay up and chunk it ten yards.
The second would be letting any doubt creep in. From a few rounds ago.. buddy asks if the pin on this green is in the same spot where I missed and putted off the green last time. I answered yes, then started to think about it. Then I was scared of hitting it short, and I over compensated for that and once again knocked it right off.

1. Being inside of 150 on an approach shot and not making par or better;
2. Following up a birdie with a dumb bogey or worse. I need to use birdies as catalysts for good play.

I hate all the things mentioned - but I can't stand slow play = that takes the cake, someone taking 5 practice swings to duff it or even worse a good golfer taking long as hell, that's just BS - not good for the game
But yeah who doesn't like messing up an easy hole or not scoring well after good shot/good drive/hitting it one way when planing on the other/etc etc

Following up a perfect drive by chunking or otherwise completely screwing up my approach shot. Did that twice today and couldn't get it out of my head and ended up doubling both holes.

Topping a fairway wood. Nothing worse than hitting a ball I expect to go 220 yards 10 feet instead. And then I'm still 200+ yards out and am forced to swing the same club again to try and make up for the poor previous swing. Pretty tough to make a good second swing with that in your head.

Bombing a drive down the middle and hitting my 2nd fat. This usually leaves me with 40-60 yards which is the death zone for me and nearly assures at least a bogey or worse.
Also having a pitch off of a very tight lie. Blade city for me. Hopefully a new wedge will solve that problem.

Three putting a green hit in regulation is also my most hated.
However, there is no feeling quite like hitting your driver into perfect position and then shanking your approach shot.

1. Missing a 2 or 3 foot putt because I did not take my time and rushed to tap it in when it really is not a tap in. I add at least 2-3 strokes per 18 onto my score by doing this. I flirted a few times with breaking 80 last year and came up short because of stupid little missed putts by not taking my time. I have yet to break 80, have had a ton of 81's and 82's.
2. topped 3 wood after I bombed a drive on a par 5 into the middle of the fairway.
3. Constant cursing from people I get paired up with. I have no problem with the occassional F bomb after a bad shot but not after every single shot you hit. Also, stop blaming your equipment!!!

Hitting a ball in the middle of the fairway and landing in a divot or sand filled divot.

Hate hate hate waiting, unless it is a weekend / holiday or during a tournament play. The first time I left without finishing the round was when it took 2.5+ hours to finish 9 holes on a weekday, just couldn't take it anymore. The experience taught me to call and ask first before choosing a game day...
Oh, and I hate OBs too.

waiting for people using carts when they dont \ would be better off with out a cart
grab their 260 yard club (wait for green to clear but then decide to hit)
only to duff it
head back to the cart, drive up and then grab their 240 yard club
and then wait for the green to clear
only to duff it again
head back to cart, drive up and grab their 200 yard club

I've done alot of these. I think the two I hate the most are:
Blading pitch shots through the green. There normally nothing good behind the green, most are raised and have trees and/or cartpath to deal with.
Being within 3 yards of the green and having to chip twice to get on. Either the first was short and didn't make it and it was long and ran off.

Slow play and when the rangers won't do anything about it. We had a group in front of us yesterday with 2 holes open in front of them...they were driving their carts on to the fringe, literally. We said something to the ranger and he commented that he was aware of it and would push them along. 5+ hours later...they lost regular customers of their course.

It's very close between:
1. Three-jack pars
2. Making bogey or worse from the fairway from 150 yards and in.
3. Smoking one down the middle after my first tee shot goes O.B.

I don't get upset if anything 130+ goes left or right of target and ends up in a bunker, or if even my drive misses the fairway and I have to punch it out from the trees. What pisses me off most is walking to the green with the 58, thinking I'm in sand, and finding out I am not....and not going back to the cart to get the right club. That always ends up with me hitting a very short flop only halfway to the green edge, and having yet another very short wedge shot with the wrong wedge in my hand (this second shot usually always ends up with massive backspin and the ball gets on the green and doesn't release). laziness sometimes gets me.
I dislike when people cuss so much because it takes out how much you are enjoying your round.
Having had shot a birdie if it wasn't for your first shot going OB
swinging a 4 iron out of a very shallow bunker from 170 and digging into the sand as if the green was 8 yards away.

I hate being one shot back in a tournament at Doral and being 131 yards out on the 71st hole with a perfect angle, no wind and a flat surface - and hitting a wedge 15 yards left of the flag.
That cost me almost $500,000. I hate that.
