Im sure everyone by now knows that Footjoy is getting rid of the Classics line, their BOA, Dress shoes, and spikeless Classics. This has saddened me deeply as I have only worn Classics. But Footjoy does have something coming out to replace them and they say they have it on tour right now. Anyone have any pics or info on them?

I was told that the new SynerG shoe was going to be their new "high end" shoe? I have also only worn classics but bought a pair of these and they are not that bad. It is very sad the classic will be gone...it has been a part of golf my enitre life snd something that hasn't changed since my grandfather was my age. I hope they replace with something classy?

It sadly is true, luckily for us pros here in Canada they offered us a sweet deal so ill be buying a pair or two. Our head pro bought 4 customs, and a another pro in and around the city is buying approx 40 pairs cause its all he wears!

the really sad part is that brockton, MA where the footjoy plant was located used to be the shoe capital of the US.
Footjoy was the last remaining shoe company, and now there are none. Yet another chapter of our national history, closed and moved to china where it can be done cheaper. I don't really blame footjoy because they were getting killed keeping it open, but sometimes it just makes me a little sad inside.

I'm sad for a couple of reasons:
1) I'm a really hard to fit foot, and I wear a 12A, so the Classic was my only option.
2) I really like the Classics, and will now have to find a narrow shoe. So far, the only option I have is Ecco, and while they are narrow, they don't fit as perfect as the Classics.

Just buy ECCO World Class as they are better than Classics and are probably the only all leather golf shoe still made, plus they are Gore Tex

got both a pair of ecco and footjoy classics. I wouldn't say that they are better the the classics, personal opinion, owning both, they are a very similar shoe. The FJ's just come in more styles and you can customize better to suite your needs (aka: tour for a lighter shoe, dry premiere for a more classy shoe.)

1. Finely tailored upper designs that include traditional and contemporary patterns
2. The most premium performance materials
3. Fashionable calfskin leather detailing
4. Performance-infused spiked and spikeless outsoles
5. Customization that allows for a seemingly endless amount of design and size options

As usual in the current climate, it all comes down to cash. I'm not very positive about where this will take FJ. I used to play a combination of Classics and DryJoy P.R.O's depending on the weather but the styles and quality (to an extent) have went downhill IMHO.
1. Finely tailored upper designs that include traditional and contemporary patterns = Hmm, I'll wait and see!
2. The most premium performance materials = Not hand made and leather, just cheap cr*p!
3. Fashionable calfskin leather detailing = We'll use as little decent leather as possible and give you the low end stuff to the max!
4. Performance-infused spiked and spikeless outsoles = No more leather soles, just synthetic rubbish!
5. Customization that allows for a seemingly endless amount of design and size options = We hope selling them in ridiculous colours distracts you!
lol, how depressing am I!!!
I just got a pair of these and they are pretty close to my good old Classics plus Darren is a Ryder Cup hero!!!

ECCO shoes are the best in the biz right now in terms of style and comfortablility. I'm younger (28) and they are keeping up with the trends no disrespect meant but classics had their day in the sun for quite some time. Players I play with wouldn't be caught dead in them. Puma also has some nice entries into the golf shoe market.

I'm just pissed that I can't get mine re-soled at the factory anymore. I'm on my second set of soles right now and they'll need it again inside a year.

You can still get them re-soled. I sent a pair in on Tuesday for it.
