I'm re shafting my driver and I'm have a hard time getting my new driver shaft into the had. Should it be hard to go in? What are some good techniques to getting the shaft in correctly?

First, and this'll sound silly, make sure you're putting a .335 shaft in a .335 hosel. A number of retail drivers use .350 shafts and it can be easy to overlook if you don't work with a lot of clubs and shafts. I don't want that to sound nasty, it isn't meant that way.
Second, is all the epoxy really off the tip of the shaft? Same question for the inside of the hosel on the head.
Third, if the end of the shaft is plugged with epoxy, it can be impossible, given the lack of any vent space, to get a shaft to stay "seated" once inserted, they tend to want to 'rise up'. Small drill bit, open up the center of the bottom of the shaft where plugged and that should take care of it.
Finally, make sure you scraped the paint off the end of the shaft if it happens to be new. Lots of times the coating increases the diameter of the shaft until it's scraped off for prep.
Let us know if none of these work, we'll try to find plan "E"

yeah see i am starting to think the guy sent me a .350 tip shaft, i bought it on Ebay and it said it was .335 but it seems to really not wanting to go, he even sent me a shim to install it into a .350 head if i wanted. as far as stuff off the inside of the head, i drilled the other shaft out of the head and there is def. not anything in there anymore, and the tip of the shaft is very clean, I mean it is supposed to go in easy correct?

actually now that i think about it, the guy sent me ferrules too, and said they were .335, so i am thinking it has to be .335

Can you blow air through the shaft? Are you sure you have the tip prepped enough? If so, the ferrule will slide on.
My guess is you didn't get all of the old shaft and epoxy out of the head. Do you have another .335 shaft you can try to slide into it? including your old one?

I've purchased more than one shaft that was SUPPOSED to be .335 that was .350, depends on how late an evening the order picker had the night before I guess. The shaft should be what we'll call a 'slip fit' meaning slides in with jusssttt enough room left for some epoxy to fill the void and form the bond. Try inserting the shaft you just pulled, if it works, well, you've got a diameter problem. If it doesn't, you've got a dirty hosel.

thats the thing, i got the ferrules on, so either they are .350 as well as the shaft, or i am just not sliding the head on right
Ill keep trying
Thanks!!!

What shaft is it? Some manufacturers like Aldila label their shafts .350 (their high end shafts) unless it is a .335.

yeah its an aldila DVS, and says nothing about .350, so im thinking its right, the shaft i had in the head was cut off, so will it still fit in there? i will try to prep that and put it in there
