It all depends if you value your equipment. From what I see in BST and on Ebay, many people don't, thus the condition of the used equipment is typically bad. Use of a cover doesn't make you obsessive compulsive, just someone who likes to protect their investment.

I ALWAYS use a cover on mine.

I actually use headcovers for every club in the bag. I beleive that if you pay the money for good clubs, then protect your investment. I also clean each club after using it, so I think I am more compulsive than you

I have a friend that doesnt use headcovers at all even for his WOODS or his SC putter!. I never let him try out any of my clubs due to his carelessness for taking care of his clubs. His putter is all dinged up and his woods have chips and dings all over them.

I always have the cover on except for when I am actually using it. I haved played with guys that don't though and their putters show it. Even a couple great SC's, just being abused. IMO they should be taken away from them for neglect.

Whatever floats your boat, friend. If you like doing it, then do it. I use mine only for transport. During the round it stays off so I'm not bothered by it. It doesn't bang against any other clubs in the bag, thus no chance of dents and dings. Only thing that irks me is when some of the guys I play with take it off around every green and invariably leave it behind at least once a round.

I didn't use it.
Until I bought TM Daytona and insert dented the first round I played.
After that, always cover.

I bought 2 SC's 6 years ago and the gamer was not covered except when in the bag room. I sent it back to SC in Jan 08 and it came back better than ever. It stays covered now however as I've learned some better habits.

Very normal. If my putter is not being used to putt, it is covered. Even in the house.
Edit - Of course I am assuming that I am normal.

The headcover is not important to me...the putter is. I'm definitely obsessive compulsive with always keeping a headcover on my putter, driver, and fairway woods.

Headcovers are replaceable. My favorite putter, my money club, is not. It's not a one of a kind custom made, but it's mine and I will know it if my wife breaks it by accident and try to replace it with another one. So yeah, the headcover stays on. I don't mind taking it off/on 18 times per round.

pretty normal to me. even the pros do it everytime they putt.
It's protection from dings and nicks on your putter. it kills me to see used and dinged up putters when i go to my proshop. I guess to each it's own. but i like my putter to be nicely protected.

The cover is so important to me that I selected my bags so the putter with a cover fits perfectly. There were a couple of other bags that had better features but wouldn't fit the SC fastback with cover as well.

I use a headcover, want to keep my relatively new Lux and refinished anser looking sharp

Not quite as paranoid as some of you, I take it off when I head to the green, and slap it back on when I'm back at the cart. No need to keep it on any more than that.

My sabertooth bites me if I don't putt the cover on....
