I don't know if anyone out there watches bowling on ESPN, but I for one love bowling. If you live in Wisconsin, you have to have something to do when it's 20deg. with the snow on the ground.

Anyway, I was watching the USBC Masters (one of the four Majors on the PBA tour) on ESPN today, and I noticed big Mike Dobbyn, approximately third row center in the crowd.

I would be interested to see a 6'8" 300lb man like Dobbyn throw a bowling ball. 16lbs with forearms like he has...that would be ridiculous!

Mike is a very solid bowler, I believe the telecast you watched was filmed at Redrock lanes. Mike turned down a round of golf on me a few weeks ago at Bali hai to go watch the action lol

Actually, the event was held at the Cashman Center (They did already have an event at Red Rock though). They specially constructed the lanes for the event to come after the Pro event got done today, the USBC Open Championships. Something like 15,000 amateur bowlers from around the world go to Vegas to compete in it every year. The whole thing takes around 6 months.

Interesting to hear that Dobbyn is that into bowling though. Like I said, it would be crazy to watch him heave a ball down the lane. I wouldn't be surprised to see a guy like him knock all 10 down using a golf ball coming off the face of his driver....then again, the ball might just put a hole right through them.

We set up a bowling outing and Im going to take pictures of his Ball, because it must weight 40lbs and he would palm the entire thing.

You gotta get some video of that and put it on YouTube. I'd love to see it. There are some pro bowlers that can bring it when it comes to ball speed, but none of them are 6'8" 3-hundo with arms the size of tree trunks. (I'm sure you're aware that 16lbs is the heaviest a bowling ball can be...although I don't doubt he could throw a 40lb ball if they made one)

The guy can absolutely crush a ball. The "show" he put on at last year's PGA Show was awesome to watch. Does he still have the record for longest drive ever in a pro tournament?

Sadly though...If Jamie Sadlowski is on, I don't know that anyone can beat him. The kid was winning junior events with 400+ yard drives before he turned 20. When it comes to long drive, I think that Sadlowski is the Tiger to Zubak's Nicklaus....and everyone else is Phil LOL!!! cheesy.gif

Even better, get him throwing a 5 -pin ball. That would have some serious speed!

God Bless

Mike still has the world record of 551 yards, When Mike is on, nobody is longer
Last year Mike was steering it trying to hit the grid and he never showed up. No Doubt Sadlowski kills it, but lets see what the future holds, a thing to remember is when Mike won Remax, Jaimie couldnt even find the range

I didn't notice him...but I actually watched the bowling. I kept trying to stop...but I got hooked! Rollin' Nolan?
