I'm watching right now and they are focusing the whole coverage on the celebrities. Yea i know that its kinda cool to see these people shank it around, but remind me again why i tuned in, oh yea to watch PROFFESSIONAL golf; not crappy hacks. anyone else notice this?

Have you never watched the Pebble Beach Pro Am before?
Saturday is 90% Celebs...tomorrow they show the real golf.
This happens every year and has never been different in a long long time.

And this is why I NEVER watch this tournament on any day but Sunday. If I wanted to hear all the jokes and impersonations I'd punch up Youtube. I'll tune in Sunday.

That's not the point though, it's not going to change, if you don't wanna see celebs don't watch it's simple. There is one tournament a year like this and it's been here for 50+ years.
Why do you have to complain about it, just DON'T WATCH
I enjoy seeing these guys play, they add some good comic relief for me and ratings can't be that bad because they do it year after year.

Everytime someone voices their opinion about bad tv coverage, someone has to say that. You don't have to think the coverage is great to watch it. The coverage stinks and they could easily show more professionals if they wanted to, but I'm still gonna watch. It's Pebble Beach.

Someone always says that because it's true, why waste time complaining about it, turn the channel and be done. There is no need to make a thread complaining about the same thing on the same weekend every year.
If you don't like the r9 do you have to make a thread about it bashing it? or suggesting that they should add more shafts when you know that's not going to happen?
why even waste the time?

It is possible to enjoy something, but hope it could be improved. I enjoy watching golf, but they could certainly improve the coverage. Obviously for you, it's either you like it or you don't. That's fine. If you don't like these threads, don't read them.

I do enjoy watching the coverage. I make it a point to watch, as Pebble Beach Golf Links is a special place to me. For instance, over the years I could never understand the allure of 17. Every time they showed that hole, it was boring as heck to watch on TV. Once I played that hole, it took on a whole different personna. I do wish there could be more coverage of Poppy Hills and Spyglass.
If anything, watching amateurs kick it around sure gives me a better game plan for the next time I play Pebble.

I've been watching the "clambake" for going on 40 years now, and believe me, it was FAR more enjoyable in the past. They never used to give NEARLY the amount of coverage they do now to these overrated stars, with their woefully inflated vanity handicaps. The celebs that permeate the tournament now are some of the most unfunny, pathetic hacks I've ever laid eyes on. I cannot believe someone derives pleasure from watching hams like George Lopez, Chris Berman, Bill Murray...etc...etc, ad nauseam.
If I want to watch crap like that, I'll tune into the Celeb event in Lake Tahoe, otherwise the telecast said it was the PGA Tour, not comedy central.

Everybody must really like Raymond, because there is no possible way Romano is an 8 hdcp!!
The only guy I saw who looked like he was a legitimate low handicap was Carson Daly. He was pretty impressive, and so was the guy he was playing with (the surfer).

I agree about Daly, but as for Kelly Slater, the only way he's a 2, is if he plays out of Bubba's Golf 'n Stuff CC. I wonder if these guys realize that when you sandbag, it's customary to inflate, not deflate your indexes.

from one canadian to another...i suggest...fibre..especially fibre 1. You are apparently backed up and need to release.
You tell the guy who posted to not make a thread and switch the channel.
You are guilty of the same thing. How bout let the guy make his point, valid or not and you bypass this thread.
Isn't your ability to "switch the channel" by skipping past the thread no different?
Besides, if you re-read his first post in thread, he said he doesn't mind watching the celebrities shank it around, he just said he wants a few more pro shots. You implied he does not want any celebrities at all.
I actually agree with his post and i do not agree it is quite this bad every yr. It used to be about a 60/40 split with celebrities a few years ago and slowly has evolved to 90/10 celebrities on saturdays. Just a bit too heavy on that.

The funniest thing I've seen out of Bill Murray was the club toss today.
I'd rather watch womens golf then this Pro Am.

I wish they would show nothing but the amateurs, combined with swing tips, particularly from Kostis. Last thing I need to see is another round of blase pros with tunnel vision.
The problem is the amateurs they isolate. Not funny, to say the least. Bill Murray has been a blast before but he's funny when his game is in good shape.
Today would have been a delight, the amateurs coping with 40+ mph winds. But I read the pro-am was canceled due to delayed tee times and severe conditions.
