Eco-friendliness, environmental responsibility, sustainable practices - whatever you want to call it: Does your perception of how a golf course manages these issues enter into your decision of where to play a round of golf?

Since information on golf course sustainability practices is not readily available, perhaps it's better to ask: Would it enter into your decision if you had good insight into the sustainability practices of local courses?

Feel free to comment but be sure to respond with your rating on a 1 to 5 scale where:
1 = Would be very important to my decision
2 = Would be important to my decision
3 = Would enter into my decision process more or less equal to other factors
4 = Would not be that important
5 = Would not be a factor at all

Be honest. No one will think less of you if you just don't think you'd give a hoot.

Pretty non-scientific poll since you can read the answers of others before responding. But an interesting subject since golf courses are under increasing pressure on various aspects of this topic (including water management) and it will increasingly affect players' experience, the availability of courses and, perhaps, consumer preference for courses.

Thanks.

I'll be honest, given two courses that are equally distant, I might choose the environmentally friendly course. However, currently, distance, cost, convenience, playability factor, as well as proximity to playing partners are all primary factors.

3 It would be important to me but there would be other things that would be just as important that aren't really big deals to some (such as distance to the course from home).

I'm happy about the course being eco-friendly more-so because I think it will help the overall logevity of the course.

3 It would be a factor in my decision. All things being equal, I would opt for an eco friendly course over one that is not.

#4 here. It's nice to look on a scorecard and see that it is eco-friendly, but it is nothing but an "oh, by the way" to me. I choose the courses I play based on design and conditioning.
