The 1st 3 days of Pebble is the worst sporting event on tv all year. Hopefully Ray freaking Romano has given up golf ....

Thank god for DVr ....
HoosierGolfer
I have to agree. Great course and we are all hungry for some golf as winter lingers on, but the first three days......wow. Just too much for me.

What hat will Bill Murray wear? The excitement builds...
hbear
I don't know I thought World Championship rock, paper, scissors was the worst "sporting" event televised...

MrJones
I'm looking forward to seeing VJ back in action.
The Duck
Oh, FOr a minute I thought you were going to say the Oberman was doing sports again....
mat562
In the interests of preserving a working television in our house, I have been banned from watching the pro-celebrity golf.

I hope it's dungarees again.....weather permitting of course.
mat562
Hopefully no elderly ladies will be chucked to the ground this year though - whatever he wears.

God, I'm going to miss seeing some C-list celebrity dancing or doing a Chi Chi sword dance after holing an eight footer. And Danny Gans of course and his world-class impressions. And how I'll cope without the oh-so-original moment of comedy when a comic starts talking to the nearest animal headcover for the cameras, I don't know...

Hand me that sand wedge would you... 'Which one? The cheese or the ham?' Ha ha. The old ones are still the best.

Dude, the Pro Bowl was LAST week.... smile.gif
theelvis510
I just hope Vegas has fallen so far that Danny Gahns has to caddie in this thing to make some cash instead of annoy me for 12 hours this weekend.
mat562
Things in Vegas would have to include a 9-on-the-Richter-scale earthquake before they got anything near as bad as Gans' Joe Pesci impersonation.

I am hoping Ray Romano and Kevin James are paired together again so the Golf Channel and CBS can show these two clowns hacking for hours on end.
The first three days the Golf Channel and CBS should pay you the viewer to watch these so called celebrity hacks.

Wow - the hate level in this thread is off the charts.
McGuire
Not quite of the charts yet ....

hey cannot wait until Tellingham says ' beautiful Pebble Beach ' for the 1,000,000,000 time

OK , now the hate will be off the charts regarding this thread

Danny Gans is the worst "celebrity" to ever make it on tv for a golf event. I cannot stand that guy and his "impersonations". He's not funny.
derekapex
The celebrities shtick is definately worn out, and Kelly Tilghman is just bad. I would rather listen to Gilbert Godfrey or god forbid Johnny Miller.

Sorry if I'm out of line. russian_roulette.gif
idiotbox
I love the Danny Gans invitational. It's the highlight of my year!
stickburn
Sorry but Danny Gans is still getting kickbacks from his appearance in Bull Durham so he will still be there.

Who is Danny Gans?

He's the Man of a Thousand Voices.

All of them the same.

And everyone thought we only saved it up or Taylormade, Nike, and puttermakers. rolleyes.gif
NDNick
He's a big "comedian" in Vegas. It is extremely awkward to watch him do his impersonations on TV because he is actually terrible. I turn away, he is not talented and it gets old fast. I am not trying to simply bash on the guy, but he really is embarrassing.
youraway2
Yep I agree - sucks big time! I'll not watch - I'll play 36 instead.

LOL
How he stays on TV is one of the great mystery's of life.
SteelPride
Tillghman is so awful.

The coverage on TGC is just really bad in general. I cannot for the life of me understand why on a channel that is intended to be completely dedicated to the game of golf, why during any given day they will be showing anything BUT golf.

Im sick of the stupid workout infomercials. Im tired of the re-runs of The Hammer.

The programming in general is very bad.

But the coverage of the tour events might be worse. Faldo might be the only thing keeping me watching these days. His bashing of Mickelson's play last week was awesome.

Very True! At the very least we will have the LPGA to fall back on in the evening the next couple of days.

If Romano isn't there you're only solving half the problem as we'll still have to endure the extremely rotund and equally unfunny Kevin James.
IUbball23
K I may get it for this... BUT Gans routine in Vegas really isn't that bad at all, I've been, and honestly it's pretty good... What comes across on TV though is completely different, and I agree it's absolutely AWFUL and not funny. I have no clue how he can be THAT terrible on TV but in his live act be as good as he is.
TheWoat
Id like to see more Chris Berman on the ol swingvision camera.
LBlack14

TheGasman
Im kind of warmed up now after watching Michael Bolton sing at every commercial break at the Bob Hope.
3whacker
We may not see as much of Ray Romano/Kevin James because neither one has a show on CBS any more so they arent going to give them any free publicity, they will use somebody with a current show, its all about advertising
Matt10
Wow.

It's either jealousy creeping in (I hope) or y'all are little women disguised as big-time golf enthusiasts.

Eitherway, thank gawd for DVR for your sake - wouldn't want there to be any anneurisms anytime soon from drinking all the haterade.
McGuire
Some of us just have higher standards. As you get older , being suckered into 10 year oldish humor, by 40 year olds ... doesn't have much appeal. And if I want to see bad golf swings , I'll hook up a game with a few of my 20 handicap neighbors. At least ,they won't act real stupid while shooting 100.

But for each ... his own man_in_love.gif

Thank god for DVr ...

Enjoy ' Celebrity Saturday ' ... You and the 15 other non-golfers can share all the 'laughs' clapping.gif

This post just made my eyes bleed. "Haterade" ... WTF. The internet is good for three things - porn, stalking your ex-girlfriend from High School, and rants. Since porn is off-limits & your ex isn't here, expect the rants.

Haterade. God that is terrible.
