A combination of many factors (weather mostly) has kept me off the course since October, I officially am going insane now.

Brother, i feel your pain, its snowing here and has been for days, i have new clubs i need to try out, and have already taken out a light bulb swinging in the house.

i think if i dont hit a golf ball within the next 48 hours i may explode.

About 1 week ago I was ready to freak out...and so was my wife since I couldn't shut up about the lack of golf etc etc. So I booked a trip to Alabama golf trail to ease the pain! If it weren't for this trip I would have gone nuts!

What makes it worse for me in nice, warm North Carolina is ... no golf whilst in Germany since last July, then right to the hospital for heart trouble the DAY AFTER I got home at the end of December! So now I sit and wait ... and wait and watch drive past people on the course! Going nuts! I am not even sure I remember which end of the club to hold!

SPRING IS HERE in S.E. Michigan... for a couple of days, anyway. I'm sure we'll get another foot of snow before spring is really here.

But I did get to hit balls outside Saturday in 45 degree weather. It felt downright hot after many days in the teens! First time swinging a club since early November.

It's only been since December for me but I know how you feel. I reached that point of insanity. I started to feel it physically. I felt despair and even entertained thoughts about the pointlessness of life.

Two nights ago the temperature was sufficiently high to finally go to the range and send some balls airborne. Then I spent an hour chipping and putting on an awful fake green. It gave me some temporary relief from the insanity.

Still, I know I won't be quite right until I play a full proper 18.

being a life long west coast (SF Bay Area) guy, I don't know how you do it. We are "cold" when the temp dips below 50. total weather wimps!

Like most of you, the Wisconsin winter has me going batty! For me the solution was to get 2 buddies together and drive south until we hit weather that was warm enough to play. We just got back from Tenn. which was an 8 hour drive.

We found a 2 day package through the Tenn. State Parks that included 2 days of unlimited golf plus a hotel room for $78, UNREAL. It turned out to be a fantastic time that helped the mindset.

I'm seriously considering abandoning the UK from Oct-March next year and go spend some time with my Dad in Dubai playing golf for a few months.

Feel like we could all chip in, buy a Golf WRX Sunny island somewhere where we can golf all year round?

Up here in Toronto, I seem to be hitting a nice smooth draw with my snow shovel. Occasionally it gets away from me with a bit of a right push (I am a righty), but so far that is keeping me sane. Oh and the basement chipping until I skulled on into the laundry room door last night - hoping "she who must be obeyed doesn't notice that one before I get the paint brush out ....

But I cannot wait to get on the course again .....

rofl.gif That is killer. The reason why I am laughing is because I have a "she who must be obeyed" myself.
Got up to 50° here in NJ on Sunday. I was hoping the courses would be opened but no avail. Went to the range and what a zoo. I got my range time in though. Can't wait til March, going down to Orlando and will be playing at OCN. That is all I got looking forward to.

My downstairs neighbor probably wants to wring my neck from my indoor chipping day and night.. but eh got to do what you go to do. There's no indoor ranges near Omaha, but luckily there's one range- Milt's, that's open almost regardless the weather (I think the owner lives in an apartment on site).. so when it's above 30 and sunny, it's bearable for at least a small bucket. With the snow pretty much gone he had the grass parts open the other day- really bad condition, and frozen so could barely get a tee in, but it beat a mat.

It's warming up in Indiana. It's getting up to the 70's this week amazingly since it was snowing last week. HAHA Hopefully it won't rain so the range and the course dries out soon.

This has been the coldest winter I can recall in Oregon.

I got to hit the driving range here outside chicago yeterday. Felt good after 3 MONTHS HYBERNATING. 50* today also. Might get 1 more bucket in.....

Sorry guys, it's been in the mid-70's the last few days here in middle Tennessee. I don't miss Michigan one bit!

Well, I do have two extra rooms at the house... don't think my "SWMBO" would mind if a few of you stopped by! drinks.gif

We did get nailed with the snow, but I still managed to play 4 rounds in January here in Oregon. Those few weeks of dry weather definitely helped.

Yeah...in colorado here, where it snows rains winds and shines in as little as in hour....I've seen it all.

Worst yet I got a new iron set, driver shaft, 3w shaft, wedges and putter...all of them personally reshafted and now just sits there...giving me the look that puppies give when they are neglected

I'm a terrible person sad.gif

Thankfully I'm still a young teen, so video games, school and friends are my salvation. Nevertheless, the urge creeps back every day and we have a terrible cycle going on: It snows, it warms up, it gets cold, all the snow that melted into the ground freezes (making the ground rock hard, gets warm again (which makes the ground all soggy) and repeats. However i do have two golf simulaors. mind you they're nothing fancy, just Real World Golf for the PS2 and Real Swing Golf, a little $10 simulator i found. Still, cant wait tilll spring smile.gif

I really think I might actually be going crazy. I did very well until about 2 weeks ago and now I just can't take it! Too bad I still have quite a bit of time before the courses open up. Hopefully I make it and don't end up in an institution!
