I'm heading down to San Juan in a few days - does anyone have any recommendations for courses in that area. I will not be bringing my clubs, so I will have to rent. Also, I do not want to drive forever to get to the course. Thanks for the help.

Not sure how far from San Juan but the course at the El Conquistador is very nice...

played the rio mar river course a few years ago...it was right after a few days of heavy rain and the ocean course was actually closed...it was a good, fun course with a lot of water hazards. i would definitely recommend it

LOL! Typo? Freudian slip? Or maybe that's what you meant to say.

Thanks guys. I have actually played the Rio Mar courses a few times and loved them. Are their any others near San Juan - maybe more like we would consider muni's up here - that are worth while. Thanks.

You can check out bahia beach in Rio Grande. It is about 20 minutes east of San Juan.

If you're willing to pay $100 and up: palmas del mar, dorado plantation. These are about 40 mins from San juan. El conquistador is great but in fajardo.
Caguas real is about 15 mins away and about $80 or so, not a bad course. The rio bayamon one sucks and is 9 holes but also only 15 mins away.
Make sure you try the local food! It's great
