I actually never thought anyone would post on this, so i was suprised to see it. I completely agree and it was driving me bonkers.
Not only does he pronounce it weird, but he puts in this odd pause between the sections....its kind of like the verbal equivalent of charles barkleys swing....

I pronounce it Ve-shay-gus. Or something like that. The double LL is between a J and a SH for me.
Cah-mee-lo Ve-shay-gus. Am I annoying?
Then again, I also say Hoo-sen. Since I swear I heard Retief's name pronounced that way when he was an unknown on TV broadcasts.

This may have been asked before. Where is Kelly Tilghman? Is she still on the air?

They are limiting her appearances this year on the golf telecasts but she still will be on the other programs there.
As far as Hammon's and his pronounciation, I wanted to smack him. Apparently, he's the only person on earth who believes this is the way to say that name correctly.

The correct way, from what I understand, is Ka mee lo Vee yay gas. He only has 1 L in his first name. From what I can remember from 3 years of Spanish class, one "L" is pronounced like an "L" in English. 2 "L's" in most cases is pronounced like a "Y". Also, the letter "I" has the sound of an "E", hence Camilo=Ka mee lo. I also had a guy in my high school class with the same last name. He pronounced it Villegas= Vee yay gas. Another rule of Spanish is that the letter "E" has the sound of an "A" or "ay".
There are different circumstances for different words, but that is how I would pronounce his name. The only way for us to REALLY know, would be to hear him say it. Although, he has an accent and would say it too fast for us to actually hear the entonacion of each syllable.
Hope this helps.

It drove me MAD INSANE!!! when he would start talking i would just turn the channel. All he needed to do was say Camilo half the time but NO!! he had to say his last name to!!
