We played most of these courses two years ago and just was wondering if all the courses are still in good shape. In particular, lost key, peninsula, kiva dunes, rock cr, soldiers cr, timbercreek and the craft farms courses. Any recommendations will be welcomed.

Kiva Dunes is probably the best one down there. Cotton Creek is pretty good too, at least it was last time I was there. It's been awhile.

Me and some guys played Kiva Dunes and Peninsula last July and they were both in great shape. I personally liked Kiva Dunes better but they were both wonderful. I know thats been a few months ago but their not going to let courses like that get in bad shape. Good luck and hit'em straight.

Ive been to kiva and a few other 100$ courses in that area but for about 40$ the state park course is pretty cool, i can get almost 3 rounds for what it cost for 1, but they are very nice dont get me wrong.
My wife would get a little pissed if i spent 300$ but 120$ ok ...

Thanks all. I played Kiva & Peninsula 2 yrs ago at about $85 each as they were the 'highest' rated courses in the area, at that time. Very nice courses but I've played them once and there seems to be other nice courses for half the price.
DBIGNAR: I couldn't find any info on the 'state park' course. Does it go by a different name ?
CJORDAN: Lost Key & Perdido Key are two different courses aren't they ? Seems like I remember one of them was advetised as having a lot of water. Lost Key at Pensacola website says it's running a special for $39.50 any day through Feb. We'll probably play there at least once. We're staying at a beach house 3.5 mi west of hwy 59. It's called Sea Treat West. Hope the weathers nice. I'm getting tired of hitting balls into an indoor net. : - ) Maybe we can get together for a round.

CJordan has to be talking about Perdido Bay Golf Course. About two miles or less from where you turn in to LostBall I meanLost Key. I was out at Lost Key about two weeks ago and its always in pretty good shape. Both courses are fun to play!

Play Lost Key first....at that price you will want to play it again. IMHO...it more fun than Kiva Dunes or the others....very tight driving course with all the fairways raised up.

We have been playing there for the last 6-7 years. The 2 courses at Craft Farms are always in excellent condition. Kiva Dunes and Lost Key are the most difficult courses. Perdido Bay is also a good course. Peninsula is OK, but their greens are not as good as the rest and their staff is not very friendly. The state park course is awful. The greens are like a sponge. You can't reach dirt with a divot tool.

Cjordan,
Yes also from Pensacola. I have been playing Lost Key quite a bit lately. Its always in pretty darn good shape and it is deffinitely a course you want to play for fairways. Miss one and your dead. The club at the Wharf is not a bad little track either. I played it back before when it was Gulf shores country club and was a nice little set up.

Well, its wednsday and windy-rainy here in Gulg Shores so we decided to spend today with the wifes. :- ( Played Lost Key saturday. Not a good course to start with as between us we had only 2 rounds the last month. As someone mentioned , Lost Ball would be a good name for it. Pennisula was sunday. Best ourse to date. we went to Soldiers Creek monday. Nice course but the greens were very bumpy. We wnt north to Timbercreek tuesday. Very nice course , especially for $39 including lunch. One more day left before heading back to the cold. We may play one of the craft farm courses tomorrow.

I have played soldiers creek, timber creek, rock creek, am i missing any creeks?? rock creek is incredible, great layout imo. tiger pointe is a great course too. i havent played lost key or kiva dunes yet but have made it to perdido bay. that course is a beast from the back tees if the wind is up, same for tiger pointe.
wcgolf, when you gonna get back down here and come play some???

Dirty Bob I'm not sure when I will get to head that way, need to though for sure.
The Moors is alway in great shape, and always fun to play when the wind blows. Played the Falls at Magnolia Grove on sunday and it never fails those greens are brutal.

I play golf with a coach that gets the gulf coast golf magazine or whatever little catalogue it is and it has 2 for ones in for magnolia grove. We usually go over there once a month and its like 42 with the cupon. Not a bad deal. i actually think magnolia grove has this catalouge by the proshop, or at least they used to.

It was a weekend rate last sunday so it was 66 bucks I think. I went ahead and got a trail pass because some friends and I are planning a few trips to the others. it was 87 and included the round. But here on out instead it will be 34 or 39 depending on weekday or weekend. some of the higher end course on the trail are alot cheaper as well like Ross Bridge I think is like 150 normally and it is only 79 with the pass.
