Alright, I know getting the NYC golfers on the site together has been attempted before, and I hope i'm not sounding too naive, but what if we start a bi-weekly league? I'd be more than happy to do a lot of the heavy lifting as far as organization. It shouldn't be that difficult. We just need to find courses that are a bit flexible, arrange car-pools and such, and be dedicated. Even if we only had 8 serious players, that'd be great! There are plenty of tracks around the city and out on Long Island that would work, especially if we're modest in size. Plus, for those of us who don't play competitively anymore, it'd be nice to play with serious players in a competitive system where each round is part of a larger ongoing tournament set-up, even if the stakes are just pride and country.

Your thoughts?

thanks for the interest and PM's guys. i'm thinking something along the lines of the following:

- around 25 to 50 bucks per player for the pot
- minimum 8 players
- bi/tri weekly or even only monthly - but would like to get at least 6-8 events
- handicaps
- playing by the rules
- lowest cumulative total at the end of the season wins (can use stroke or match play or stableford or any other system we agree on. sky's the limit.)

it doesnt have to be that difficult to arrange. getting a couple/few tee times near each other isn't hard and once money is involved i'm sure we will have everyone's attention. keep me posted with your interest. late March is just around the corner. we can do this!

the season for sure. sorry i didnt specify. but it's all negotiable, of course. same with the number of events and when they are and such. we got a couple months to iron it out.
