Can anyone help me out here? I am looking to purchase a club from Japan, has anyone purchased a club from Japan on EBay. If so were you charged any additional charges such as tariffs, etc, once the club reached the United States. If so was the charge excessive or not, I don't mind paying something if I have to but with the cost of the club and shipping, I don't want to be suprised by a large additional charge to get the club once it gets over here. Thanks for any help on this matter.

Give your local Mail office a call and speak to their international dept.

I just looked on the US Customs website and it says something about a 4.9% customs charge. This might differ depending on what port the items come in at. Have a look for yourself.

I've ordered things from Japan on Ebay and from other online stores and they usually ship via EMS. I have not been billed for additional custom charges yet.

Thanks for the help!

there are charges called "duties," but you're best bet is to have the person sending the club label it at a value of say $150, and that it is a gift, then no charges apply. might you know thew method of shipping, i.e., ups, fedex, dhl?
