Ok so the other day i was having a knock. I was on the par 4 6th and about 165 from the front of the green. I hit a nice cut 6i that was going towards the center of the green.
Walking upto the green I expected too see my ball somewhere on the green but not near the pin. I noticed it wasn't on the surface but actually dropped into an uncoverd hole on the green.
What is the ruling for this situation?

Do you mean there are 2 normal holes on every putting green, one covered and one in use?
If your ball is in the wrong hole, you lift it and place it on the nearest point of relief. Rule 25-1b

There is about 5 pin placements on the green. Obviously one of the green staff moved the pin but didn't cover up the old hole. Where would the nearest point of relief be?

The nearest point of relief would the place where there's no interference for stance, area of intended swing and line of putt - and no nearer the hole.
With 4 additional holes isn't it a bit difficult sometimes to find a line of putt without a hole interfering??

If it's on the same green, (strange that there are two holes), nearest point of relief without interference from the "other" hole. No penalty.
While playing the 6th hole at PGA National's Champion Course, my playing partner blocked his drive right and holed his tee shot on the 4th green. It was determined that he would get relief from the green, no nearer the hole, (6th hole). No, he could not claim a hole in one!

5 permanantly cut holes on every green! How lazy does the greenkeeper have to be to avoid cutting a new hole every few days?
