Well, I only have one round under my belt with them so far, but I will go ahead and give an early review and then add to it if others desire. I haven't read anyone else's review, so this is totally uninfluenced by others.

Here is what I wrote to win a pair of these:

I should be one of the people to test them because I have an incredibly wide variety of shoes to compare them against, and because I offer a different dimension for shoe fitting. I have the flatest feet that you have ever seen. I could provide input for my fellow flat footed brethren, and compare them to my Adidas Tour 360's, Adidas Tour 360 2's, Footjoy DryJoys, Footjoy DryJoys Pro, Footjoy E-Comforts, and Footjoy Classics. Plus, I am a shoe HO.

I won't show pictures of my feet for your sake LOL, but they are literally flat as a board. I often walk when I play, so a shoe that provides a lot of support is important. So on to the review.

LOOKS: These shoes are sharp. I got the white/white, and when I first pulled them out of the box I was impressed. They have a nice athletic look to them, but they still maintain some of the FootJoy classy look. I would guess these are designed to appeal to the golfers that like the more athletic look of the Adidas shoes. In this department I say FootJoy did a great job.

COMFORT: Out of the box, these shoes feel very nice. They arrived on a day where I had been on my feet for about 10 hours non stop, so I put them on for about 5 minutes in the house to see how they were. I was pretty impressed. The memory foam feels pretty good. You can tell almost right away that they will be pretty comfortable.

I played on Monday of this week with them, and I walked. It was a tad soggy, but not too bad. The course was right around 7,000 yards, and it is set up where the longest walk between any hole is no more than 100 yards. You only have to walk that distance twice, so you pretty much just walk the length of the course. After paying and putting for 10 minutes, I went and teed off. After 9 holes I felt no discomfort in my feet. When I finished with 18, my feet felt pretty much exactly like they did when I wear my Tour 360's, which is just fine. I could walk 36 in them (I think) and my feet would still be in pretty good shape. I would say that these are just as comfortable as my Tour 360's (which IMO are the most comfortable shoes out there), and may even be more comfortable. I don't know for sure yet if they are, I will find out once they get some more use. Definitely the most comfortable FootJoy shoe I own, including my Classic Tours.

STABILITY and TRACTION:
These shoes really shine here too. I may have been in one or two awkward places on the golf course through out my round rolleyes.gif and needed some extra stability. These shoes did that. I was able to take and make the swing I needed to without worrying about sliding or slipping. The Opti-Flex sole helps as you swing, you can feel the shoe give a little easier in those places during the swing. I really like this feature in the shoes.

FIT: I can see why FootJoy emphasized fit when they emailed me. I have 4 pair of FootJoys besides the SYNR-G, and these fit a little different. The shoe is a little snugger on top and on the sides. I think that this is because of the memory foam. They ARE NOT tight, just nice and snug. I think this extra snugness helps out with the stability too. These shoes fit my feet better than any of my other shoes. I really like the fit all the way around my foot. I did get the same size shoe in these as my other FJ shoes as well.

Overall, I am very pleased with the shoe. I hope that FootJoy will continue to push these, because I think they will be a big hit. I will certainly buy another pair when one of my other shoes goes out. These could very well be my new favorite shoe, but only time will tell.

Thanks again to FootJoy and GolfWRX for the opportunity to try these out.

I am definately going to have to give these a try this year. I love the Footjoys I wear right now,but these look like they might be a good compromise.

I'll let you know when my SB-1's get here next week. partytime2.gif

Chris, I thank you would really like these. They look sweet, and they are comfy too. Plus, if you need to hit a 175 yard shot with a 4 iron from the trees that cuts like crazy and never gets higher than your face, then with these shoes you at least won't have to worry about the stability part. (Shot hit the green btw LOL).

Sorry guys that my review was pretty boring, especially compared to Benji's. I almost wish I had read everyone else's before mine.

Benji FTW!!!

Any other color combos?

They had white smooth/ white lizard (my choice), black smooth/ black lizard, white smooth/ black lizard, and (I think?) white smooth/ brown lizard. I needed a new all white golf shoe, so white/white was my choice.

Benji's is still there.

Nick, I think you will like them. I know you are a big Titleist guy, and I assume FJ as well. These are more comfortable than my Classic Tours are, but my Classic Tours aren't broken in yet either.

Very Nice TM! Good review...

But, you should have mentioned the The FJUGTSU (FootJoy Uranium Guided Traction Stabilizer Unit).

For all of you without a pair SYNR-G shoes, this little feature allows you walk on the ceiling. ...apparently it's a big hit with tour players :-)

I can't believe I left that off! I am posting from the ceiling right now. Definitely one of the better features of this shoe. I used it on the course to make my way up a tree to retrieve my ball.
