I'm looking for a lightweight stand bag that will also cart fairly decent. I'm planning to do a little more walking this coming year with my 10 year old. I've owned the Ping Hoofer Vantage and really like it but would like to find something maybe a little bit cheaper. I'm open to anything that isn't an OGIO. Had a couple of them and really don't like the funky club organizers much.
In a nutshell I want something simple yet durable and I don't need a ton of pockets

.
Thanks

Although it's a few years old now, I have been very pleased with my Sun Mountain stand bag. You should give them a close look.

Titleist/Sun Mountain 3.5
+1 with the lean going toward the Sun Mountain. Great bags!

agree with the 3.5, but also look into the ogio vaporlite or ozone. the ozone is roughly the same weight as the 3.5 but with better club dividers and storage, imo. the vaporlite is just a touch lighter than the 3.5. the 3.5 does have the more comfy strap system though.

I agree on the Sun Mountain. I have had 3 Hoofer's, and just got a Sun Mountain SLX. Played 27 on Saturday and thought the bag was much better than the Hoofer. I walk 99% of the time.

I have had sun mountain bags in the past and found that the stand mechanism (bottom) fits awkwardly when using a power cart. Is this still the case?

I carry the Ogio Edge. Great bag and has a special strap on it to attach directly to a cart. Makes it very stable.

Had the hoofer and a few sun mountain bags including the 3.5. I now have a Nike sasquatch, great carry bag, and good on a trolley. Has individual dividers and lots of pockets but is also very light, well made and with a good stand. I'm convinced.

I'm a huge Ogio fan. I am sporting a Grom right now that works well on a cart as well. (cant say that about most cary bags). all the products are first class. happy new year

Any Sun Mountain bag, I've only used them for 15 years, they hold up great, and customer service is excellent.

huh, i've picked up both of those various times in the shop and could swear that they felt very similar weight-wise. if anything, i felt the ozone was just a hair lighter, but nothing incredibly appreciable.
edit: just out of curiosity, i double-checked the weights of both bags. if both companies are being accurate with their weighing, the ogio actually is just a tad lighter at 4.2lb vs. the titty at 4.4lb.
still not a big enough difference to make me choose 1 bag over the other just based on weight. i just didn't think there was much of difference in "feel" regarding weight.

My first bag was the ogio ozone (blue/white argyle) which was very light as you stated. After a year of using the ozone the legs didnt retract fully anymore which was a HUGE annoyance to me. I then got the clip lok because i wanted to protect my ap1's which i bought when owning the ozone. the clip lok is nice in theory but way too heavy for all the walking i was doing. Then just recently i switched to the titty lightweight model which is very light, has good legs (so far) and my clubs are already broken in and I realize they are golf clubs, they will get marks, but all that adds character to MY clubs. Not as many pockets as the clip lok but i don't care.
Its simply a classic bag i hope to keep for years to come as long as the legs keep up. Pics below

the built integrated top cuff is fantastic. if you are getting a bag, try the x86 or for a few xtra bucks the lightweight bag and i don't think you'll be disappointed with your decision. I am certainly VERY EXTREMELY HAPPY!

Ive heard good things about the Nike Sasquatch Tour Stand bag. I like the idea of 14 full way dividers it offers, but if you dont play anything Nike it may be an issue for you. Good luck

Do any of these mentioned bags (titleist and three5) fit in a golf cart (i ride too)
My previous Four5 and Titleist premium stand bag both did not fit in a cart, you'd have to turn it sideways.. makeing half the pockets useless.
My vantage is good, but the pockets and layout on some of the newer bags work better.

Yes, accessing the pockets while riding is very easy.
