Full Version: Double Albatross or Duck... You decide!!

I am making a petition to send to the USGA that the double albatross (hole in one on a par five... a seemingly impossible accomplishment) should be renamed to duck!

this way you could tell someone you got a duck, and that would be very cool.

the order of birds would go as such

birdie- one under
eagle- two under
albatross- three under
duck- four under hahahaha duck idhitit.gif

i will do my best to make a duck on hole, so that way i can prove it is possible to make duck... so i should be able to name it as well!

please respond!! and sign my petition,

That sounds like a sweet idea. I'll sign! Where is it?

yer sounds good you could hit a duck hook which could give you enough distance to get a duck.
i hit a duck sittin on the lake once does that count.

Brent you have hit a lot of ducks in you time!! cheesy.gif I remember one just a few weeks ago.... beach.gif

That is also a cool name btw smile.gif There is an add for internet deals down under where Robert Allenby tees off on a par 5 and holes it and they call it a DoDo (DoDo being the name of the company)

I Know that Wikipedia is renound for being innaccurate, but on here, (scroll down to the bottom), it says it says 4 under par is called a condor.

I remember a member holing his second to a Par 5 when I was a junior member, on a hole that was SI 7. The member was off 12 or something and thus scored a net 1 on the hole.

After much glad handing in the clubhouse after the round, and discussion with the secretary I learned something new; that -4 on a hole is a 'vulture.'

I'm not sure if 'vulture' is a UK thing, since I've never heard of a 'condor.' Nor have I heard of anyone scoring one since...

I say we call it a blue footed booby.

Duck is not a good golf term - it needs to be a bad a** bird since it is a rediculous score. Condor is cool, but I think we should call it a Tiger Woods.

A Condor is a type of vulture. Just from a quick Google search it does appear that Condor is already the name for 4 under par.

I meant I'd never heard of a condor as a golfing term... biggrin.gif I've heard of the long necked avian variety...

Then again I'd never heard of the term 'vulture' either until that member holed his 4 wood...

All this talk of South American birds will have me fishing out an old 'Pan Pipe Moods' CD...
