Hey guys I'm looking for some feedback from knowledgeable sports collectors. A friend of mine has the pair of golf shoes arnold palmer wore to win his first major at augusta in 1958. They are autographed by him as well. These shoes were given to his friends father by arnie in the early 60's and then his father pasted them on to him. These shoes were also at the world golf hall of fame a few years back for the arnold palmer exhibit. We have noticed that tigers golf bag from his first major at augusta sold for around 100,000 and that was obviously much more recent. Does anyone on the board here have any insight in to possibly how much these may be worth, and any places other then ebay to possibly auction these off? Thanks in advance!

I don't collect much golf memorabilia, just a couple autographs and a Pebble Beach flag signed by some guy named Tiger Woods. I do collect baseball memorabilia.

What I will tell you is to hang onto them. I know in the baseball world, depending on the player, memorabilia is worth more posthumously. I don't want to sound like you should cash in on his death (long live the king!) but if you're going to be selling anyway I would hang onto them.

In addition to waiting, right now the market is very cool for things like these...people don't want to spend the money in a tight economy. I feel like you'd get more them them in the future regardless of his passing.

But here's my opinion. Something like his pair of shoes that he wore when he won is priceless, so I personally would hang onto them and only sell if I was out on the street.
