I started to play again in 2008 and also bought new shoes, my first pair with soft spikes, as I hadn't played in eight years. Now I have to change them, and it is the first time for me, that I have to buy new soft spikes.
I was reasonably happy with the performance of the Champ Stinger spikes that came in my Nikes, but I was unhappy with how fast they wore. So I wonder, if there's something better out there. Should be something with the Q-lock system.
What do you use and what are your experiences with different kinds of softspikes?

Thank you.

I like the Stinger spikes. I try to stay off the paths with them and they seem to last OK.

I like the soft spikes

IMO:
They grap the grass better than the harder stinger versions.
Feel better while walking because they give and add a bounce to your step when new.
Last longer because they give on concrete
Have more prongs for more traction.

i like the black widows... they last longer than the stingers .. a little softer but not as soft as the pulsars

The Champ Stingers are my first choice followed by the SoftSpike Black Widows. These offer the best traction, especially for faster swingers with lots of lower body torque (like Anthony Kim). The original Softspikes (like come in footJoys) are okay, but definitely do not offer the lateral traction of the aforementioned models, especially in wet conditions!

The ones that come stock in Adidas shoes. Last 5 times longer than any other soft spike and provide better traction.

I haven't tried the Stingers yet, but I definitely like the Black Widows better than the Pulsars. They seem to last quite a bit longer for me.

From my experience, stingers and spiders wear our real fast. I have to make an extra effort to not walk on concrete, which is really lame. The spiders are cool though in that you can actually feel the cushion effect from the legs giving.

I prefer the stock adidas traxion ac. They grip really well and last much longer than other spikes. Definitely more than twice as long. They're hard to find locally though.

I use a mix of the Champ Stinger & Champ Pro Stinger(metal spikes).  I gotta have my metal!!!   At the least I put em in the left inside and right outside.  I try to anchor in strategic points.

Oh and there is NO way soft spikes will anchor you in better than the Pro Stingers!  Try em and you will remember what real traction feels like.... partytime2.gif
