Stoneybrook Country Club. It is private but Public can play at certain times though. It is a retirement community but the golf course is phenomenal. All fun and hard holes though. My dad owns a house there for my grandma and we play when we go down to see her. This course is wide open but there are some tough holes - rolling fairways, forced carries, shot placement. It is a fun course. It has an excellent practice facility with a chipping, bunker green, an all grass range with multiple mirrors, and a putting green so freaking big it can easily accommodate 30 golfers with no overcrowding.
http://www.stoneybrook.net/There is also the Bobby Jones Golf Complex that has 36 holes. Pretty Easy.
For dinner I would try Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse. A good steakhouse..try the coconut shrimp. There is an Edwin Watts and a bunch of smaller repair shops right on the main road (can't think of the name) in Sarasota. For entertainment there is St. Armands Circle. for shopping for presents and a lot of good restaurants.
Any other questions...just ask.
