I'm going to Tulsa this Friday with a bunch of guys. We're staying at the Cherokee Casino and going to play a couple of rounds at their golf course. I was wondering if anybody has ever played it and could tell me a little bit about it. Somebody said it was the course that John Daly played before the PGA Champ a couple of years ago. Thanks.

Cherokee Hills is a great course! It will kick your teeth in, but it is still fun. Beware of the greens!!!! It's hard to explain but you'll understand once you're there. They are ridiculously fast and extremely sloped. I cannot begin to count how many times I have putted right off the green (and I'm not a hack either, 11 hdcp). Bring your sense of humor though. If you are the type that gets pissed while golfing then it might get to you after a few holes.

I took some friends out there who were single digit handicaps and one shot 96 and the other shot 114!!! They were not happy. So when I go out there I just know I'm gonna lose some balls and just try to laugh and have fun.

I'm jealous actually, I haven't played that course in months. It will be a true test in the wind on Saturday.

Sounds like a great course. I usually prefer fast greens, but when you throw in undulations, it makes it tough. Maybe they will be a little slower since the weather is a little colder now and they probably don't cut them as short. Some of the guys that I'm playing with are complete hacks, so it'll be interesting watching some of them.

We're playing our own ball on Friday afternoon and then playing a 2 man scramble on Sat. I'll relay back here what I end up shooting on Fri.

cherokee casino has the fastest greens i've ever putted.. but the slope made it ( pull your hair out hard ) but there is good news.. the back 9 is not in the same league as the front.. 3 putting is the norm.. go out i a parking lot and practice your speed control.. if you can roll the rock you will love it.. good luck

Sounds like they're TOO fast. It will be fun though. We'll have lots of beer and everybody will have a great time regardless of how we play. Will be at the bars in Tulsa Friday night. That's always fun.

Just hope the wind is not blowing real hard. Was out there 2 weeks ago and the wind was blowing 20mph with the greens running fast. All you can do is laugh and drink cold beverahes on days like that.

You will take your lumps on the front nine but can attack the back nine in some spots. #9 is a fun driving hole.

good luck and BUNDLE UP!...it is going to be cold Friday in Tulsa, but the wind forecast is light and variable

I think it is one of the best golf courses in the state. I agree it is a challenge and that you had better not be on the wrong side of the pin. As for the single digit handicaps that shot 96 and 114, they should probably establish more realistic handicaps or start playing courses where you have to hit the fairways. Not for the faint at heart, but a great course... if the wind is howling just go to the casino and bet on table 3.....
