Sergio took first at the HSBC with a win over Oliver on the second playoff hole and moves to second in the world rankings! I love Serg, he is playing great, I would love to see him keep his momentum going and win a few majors this year!

SERGIO!!

His confidence must be sky high, hope it carries onto the majors. I would love to see a Woods/Garcia duel in the near future.

I am hoping for the samething. It would even be sweeter if Serg beat him. I love Tiger, but I would love to see someone who could battle with him. That person may not be Serg, but I would be really cool to see!

Congrats to Sergio...if he can improve his putting (which has been getting better) he will be tough to stop

That was a nice putt to get into the playoff and to win.

Might want to add "spoiler" wink.gif.

too bad the next major is almost 6 months away

Marshaled for him for a couple of days. Striking the ball very well and putting was tidy. Seemed relaxed and chatty. Not using standard Tour Preferred irons and he has ground the soles himself.
BTW, Phil Mick was using a TM 3 wood. Looked like a R7 TP steel but Bones was getting the head cover on pretty fast.

Sergio has really turned the corner this year, maybe Tiger not being around has helped his confidence, and he and Harrington can take that forward when Woods returns, because they have the game to beat Tiger now and again, but I think the confidence was lacking....

But, I do feel sorry for Oliver Wilson.... everyone talks about 'the best player to not have won a major' but Wilson has to be the best player to not have won a tournament.... he's now been runner up 5 times in 2008 (been caught every time) and was runner up a few times in 2007. He's a really great guy, but maybe needs to turn his nice guy personna into a bit more aggression to take that win, because once he's won an event he'll take off and become a regular top 20 player.

Standing on the line of Oliver's last put. The wind was gusting and all it needed was a whiff and it would have toppled in. It was that close. He did himself proud and was universally praised for his charming and grounded demeanor. Unlike many. Too many.

Kim's blow up in the third round was staggering. His caddy was mortified.

I got it all recorded and gonna watch it tonight. I had a feeling sergio was gonna win even before it started.

Like some others i do feel a tad sorry for oliver wilson. He is a really steady player but just hasn't had that win yet.
