I was just looking at the PGAtour.com and I realized that John Daly was born in Carmichael, CA. I always thought that he was 100% Arkansas?

Yes, born there in Cally but not sure when they arrived in Dardanelle, Arkansas. I know he played High School Golf at Dardanelle and then went to U of A. Just not sure when the Dalys arrived in Arkansas. He has a house in Rogers, and Dardanelle, Arkansas and in Collierville, Tennessee.

This week's episode of "The Daly Planet" will focus on Dardanelle and his home. His house there has a sweet setup with two synthetic greens in his back yard. It is near the course he grew up on and purchased back in October, 2005 which was Bay Ridge Boat and Golf Club. Now it is named "The Lion's Den" and is under a hefty renovation.

I grew up right across the Arkansas River in Russellville, Arkansas. I used to work in Dardanelle at a grocery store while I was in college. Used to sack his Dad's groceries.

Carmichael is a suburb of Sacramento. From what I understand he moved from there at a young age. Other golfers from the Sacramento area are Kevin & David Sutherland, Natalie Gulbis, Spencer Levin, Scott McCarron and Nick Watney.

i met someone at a airport one day and i mentioned i was heavily into golf...she told me she went to high school with John Daly...yet it was some private school of some kind in Missouri? is that right?

yes that is correct.

On Daly Planet the other day he said he attended 4 different highschools in 4 years. The last of which was Dardaniel.

Sounds like he moved around a LOT. I didn't catch the reason why though. Something to do with his father.

His dad worked for several Nuclear Power plants as JD was growing up, hence this is why they moved to Dardanelle. Russellville, where I grew up is the home of one of those Nuclear plants which is just across the Arkansas River from Dardanelle.

I think JD's dad is now selling real estate in Russellville unless he has retired in the last couple of years.
