Just picked up the newest Nike golf shoe and I'm pleasantly surprised. I was leary of the white/ gunmetal silver because I've seen some pic's that appear to show what looks to be a shine off of the ballistic mesh, not so in person. I really like the black version but I just don't wear black shoes enough and since I had some credit I thought I would take the plunge. Tried to take pics before the sun went down, but its October in Illinois and were lucky the sun is out at all.

Here are my initial impressions. First off they are a little wider than past models from Nike. I've never been able to put on the SP-8 or SP-8.5 without using a shoe horn, the new model slides on easily with loosened strings. They still have that straight out of the box comfort that I've grown to appreciate from Nike and in the short time I was wearing them around the house there was noticable give with each step (heal and forefoot), they felt very good. Secondly I was glad to see that Nike has abandoned the air pouch (all of their marketing claims state there is an air zoom unit in the heal, but unlike other versions it is not visible which should prevent the following sentence from happening I hope!). If you've ever owned a pair of Nike golf shoes you know that with any significant wear the pouch becomes compromised and if wet you are greeted with a ffffft (closest spelling I could come up with) with every step. I was concerned with the lower heal but after trying them on that is a none issue as they are very snug and showed no sign of heal slippage at all. While the ballistic mesh makes the shoe a little "louder" than I like I think its benefits will show themselves over time. The mesh is located on the inside and outside of the shoe and will be much more malleable than the leather that it is replacing which should make the shoe wear longer while looking better at the same time (no cracks/ discoleration). This shoe should also clean very easily as the mesh would just needed to be wipped down with a wet brush to maintain its look and unlike the SP-8 and 8.5 there are no "columns" around the air pouch in the heal that invariably collected dirt and grass.

On second thought maybe I could wear black shoes more often.......

look good, i want the black ones but the white ones are tempting

Actually they're not bad lookin'!

Those look sooo much better than the stock/promo pics.

I'm gonna get them in black for this winter and then snag the whites for next spring/summer.

You'd never think they were waterproof with that mesh looking stuff on the outside.

Very bueno, I picked up the blk ones today, they did not have the wht in stock yet.

I saw the black ones in the shop the other day and they look stunning, probably the best looking shoe on the market IMHO. Tried them on expecting to be walking away with a pair but comfort wise they were not as comfortable as my footjoy reelfit.

Still might buy a pair anyway!

The front of the shoe doesn't look so fiercly square on these compared to previous TW SP models, they look pretty good. Stiff competition for the Adidas Tour 360 3.0s.

those are f'in sweet! i remember seeing the pre-release pics and thought they looked too futuristic and wierd.. i like em.. darn it, wallet go hide..

You know they look pretty good. clapping.gif I agree with everyone else that those press release pics were atrocious. It's amazing to me that a company as big as Nike could release photos that bad. I mean they looked terrible. I guess they didn't want any preorders?

Wow I thought those pictures before were so bad that I didnt even think about them as being a possiblity for next season. They are actually pretty nice looking! There goes another $200 biggrin.gif
Pure745
yeah i like the toes way better.. i dont like the boxy ones as much anymore.. these are kind of a hybrid.. i love the air that goes around the whole shoe.. kinda like my air max's for the gym..

the tour 360 ltd are still my fave by far.. so im anxious to try these

what you're thinking is AIR is actually just a clear par of the mid sole.

the only Nike Air on this shoe is the encapsulated Zoom Air in the heel.

WOW! They look cool! I`ll keep a look out for them in the shops.

I don't care for the Teflon, seems like it would be difficult to keep clean. They felt pretty good though.

I was just thinking about that as well. Golf shoes + mesh + dirt = hard to keep clean. The black ones probably won't show it though.

Any more feedback from you guys out there who have a pair?

Thinking about the Nikes but might hang on till the SYNR-G's hit the shops.

After seeing these in the store I still feel like Nike missed the mark with the TW and other golf lines. Looks like I'm heading to ebaY for a pair of the SP-8

Just awesome, they really put you close to the ground and comfort is at a high level in the tw's.

Those are definitely on my want list

Has anyone else bought these shoes? I'm thinking about getting a pair, but am undecided on if they look good on or not.

Anyone who has them, are they comfortable and do they look good when worn?
kdstour
Have both the black and white pair since October last year. Very comfortable shoe, but for me basically any TW show they send me in my size wide fits perfectly. I find the non-TW Nike's don't fit me as well, so I highly suggest you try on a pair. Black stay's cleaner, but the white wipes off with a damp towel after the round, and I've never needed more than that to keep them clean.

Great shoes

Well, i just ordered a pair online for $170. I was shocked to find them that low considering everywhere else is selling them for $220, but i called the online retailer and asked them if they were first quality.

They told me they are not factory blems and the price is correct. They even through in a dozen nike golf balls and upped me to free 2nd day shipping with the purchase of ground.

The website is globalgolf.com and their out of Raleigh NC. They have good google ratings so hopefully the sale will go off without a hitch.
