I hit a few putts with the new Buttonback and was trying to describe the feel of the insert to a friend. He has never hit a Scotty insert putter before, so i was trying to translate it into Odyssey terms that he would understand. Maybe somewhere between a white hot steel insert and the no insert black series. I know that's like comparing apples to oranges.
Can anyone compare the feel of the BB insert to any other non-Scotty type insert?
Thanks.

I think it has a sort of harsh feel to it, not like any other insert I have seen. It has a definite click to it. Studio Select feels a little bit softer.

My cousin has the studio select and I have the BB, he definitely thinks the BB is alot softer then his select. I've a Bettinardi carbon tour putter and it definitely feels just as soft if not softer then my Betti!!

The buttonback insert is slightly firmer than original TEI inserts , definitly softer than studio select .
I have used all the three . If you nail the sweet spot , it feels great.

How does it feel compared to the t10? Is it the same insert?

I have never used a T10. I assume the feel is similar to T10, as these are newer Terryllium inserts . My comparision was TEI inserts in Santa Fe and old Newports.

The stainless insert will feel significantly different when compared to a copper insert. Stainless feels a bit more harsh, whereas the copper produces a soft yet responsive "click" at impact. Since insert on the t10 putters isn't attached in the center, I would assume it it has a slightly different note & feel off the face when compared to the button backs.

The old Terryllium is still the greatest feeling material i have ever used. Im sure the buttonback will be similar.
