I went to the range of the course where I plan on buying an unlimited pass, but the mats there are terrible. I have my own mat that I bought to practice with at home and was wondering if any one out there takes their own mat to the range. The mat I have lets you "divot" so fat shots aren't as hidden. Plus, my mat is much, much softer and not as harsh on the arms or clubs. I figured it would prove to be more useful for knowing how well I'm hitting the ball than the mats at the range. Anyone have any experience with taking their own mats?

Sounds a little awkward to do, but I bet you'd generate some interest in the folks around you, they'd all wonder who the weirdo is that's bringing his own mat.... but I bet at least one person would approach you to ask what was going on, and before you know it, everyone would be trying out your mat to see what the big deal was!
