Hey All,

Here's the deal: I am looking at putting a golf show together, and want to get some input as to what you would want to see on a golf show. I am really looking for ANY input whatsoever, and figured this crowd might have some good ideas, as for the most part, we can't get enough golf. Let me know what you feel you don't get enough of, or any of for that matter. Would you like to see courses in detail, having someone play them and look at what it has to offer...golf destinations, clothing, equipment...Anything and everything is welcome. Thanks in advance, and have at er.

Cheers!!!

I'd really like to see a show on the various equipment available, and how it/they perform by a variety of golfers, perhaps 6-12 testers, who over the course of the series, people can identify with and get to pick a couple testers who 'mirror' their style of play. This of course breaks down at the 'Promotional fee paid..' level, if it can't be done in an unbiased way, its not worth doing. Nothing compromises integrity quicker than 100% positive reviews.

I totally agree on the 100% positive feedback, you know from the get go that's it's not legit. The idea of having a wide range of players at different skill levels is a great idea. IT diversifies you audience, cause as much as all of us wish we were, were not as good as the pros. Would you like to see them actually on the course or more just on the range/putting green?

both, for sure. If you really want to be any good, you have to fall in love with putting. right?
That said, we (just me?) really love striking a pure 3-iron , so limiting it to a putting show, just ain't sexy enough to grab the weekend guys (i'm no authority here on demographics, just a guy with a golf obsession  biggrin.gif  )

All of the above... plus, I'd like to see a show on the day in the life of a caddy and for televised tournaments, what goes on behind the scenes to cover a tournament.

Another thing that might be good is course preparation, how they use and set up things like Shot Link, the shot radar, etc. Scorekeeping (someone has to update those big leaderboards), all the different volunteer jobs during a tournament, the job the PGA and USGA officials do, etc...

Some of these things you see a bit of occasionally, but most often not.

I'd like to see more interviews with great players of the past. Ask them specifics about their beliefs about the swing and their mental keys and strategies for playing the game. Really in depth stuff, not the powderpuff interviews we usually get. I would love to see someone be able to pull an interview with Mickey Wright. That would be priceless!

Thanks guys, some awesome ideas here!!! I was thinking about maybe following an up and coming Tour player, and see what a week in the life of a Tour player is really like, from practice to interviews to family life etc...Also looking at what it actually takes to be a pro, the steps you have to take to get there, exemptions etc... Along the lines of the Caddy, I was thinking the same thing, in addition maybe playing a round with one of them, and see what it would be like to have a pro caddy and have an up close look at what he is saying to his guy. Any thoughts on profiling the courses that the they play on Tour that "we" can play as well? How to get on, costs, a look at them without the galleries, media, vans etc...What about touring some of the tour vans, and getting a look at how/what they do behind closed doors?

Cool a** equipment tests. Get an iron-byron and test new balls/drivers against each other. Show gear effect in slow motion. Debunk equipment myths.
